List your earthquake damage here.

When I got home, I saw that one of the shelves in my kitchen had come partially out of the wall and cookbooks were all over the floor. One of the marble bookends holding them up also crashed to the ground, which must have been really loud.

My desk drawers were both wide open, and a couple framed pictures had fallen off my dresser.

My one cat was totally FREAKED when I got home at 3:30. He was all puffy and tiptoeing around the house. The other cat appeared to not care. He is really lazy and probably slept through it.

Lol!! I love when cats are puffy.

We had zero damage. Nothing out of place. But as DH said, how would we even tell, our house is such a mess Embarrassed

  • One vase was knocked over but it didn't break.  A few bottles of shampoo fell over in the bathtub.  Otherwise, nothing out of the ordinary happened.  During the quake, one kitty ran upstairs and hid under the bed.  The other kitty ran downstairs and hid under our side table.
  • No damage at our house. I think a few baby books fell off the coffee table, but I'm not certain. The dogs seemed fine, no accidents in the kitchen, so that's a plus. Other than my nerves being shot yesterday, we are all okay.

  • One of my favorite items ever, a beautiful ruby red and gold leaf plate I bought in Greece fell off the china cabinet and shattered along with a souvenir champagne flute from my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary.  Lots of things were knocked over but those were the ones that broke.  Of course.
  • The older cat was a little freaked when I got home about 2 hours later... but he freaks about everything. The kitten was unfazed.

Upstairs in our bedroom, one single book and bookend had fallen off a shelf.

When it occurred, I was in a restaurant with a wine store inside... I thought the wine bottles were goners but, miraculously, not a single bottle fell!

  • our reed diffuser in the laundry room feel over.

and there is some suspicion that a small crack in our foundation extended a little bit, but DH isn't sure.  Otherwise, all's good.

  • a few frames were crooked. Strangest thing that was broken, but totally fixable.  A year ago I pulled out my violin to play around with it and while it was out of the case, my cat peed in it.  So we threw the case a way and wrapped my violin up in 2 towels and put it on the top shelf in our closet, and shamefully I forgot about it, until I came home and it was in the middle of our BR.  It only had a tiny scratch on one side and the bridge had popped out.  Strange though that was the only thing that was seriously disturbed.  All our animals were acting totally fine, or at least at the same level of crazy.

  • I was home at the time and thought I had doubled my allergy pills at first. I was all kinds of woozy for about an hour afterwards. I didn't notice any physical damage at all but DH noticed that the cable box had fallen off the tv upstairs. That's the only thing out of place.

Jade was acting weird and crying about half an hour before the earthquake hit. Then when it happened she looked around and started barking and tried to climb onto my (slowly disappearing) lap like she does during thunderstorms.

Then an hour afterwards she looked like this:

  • My BFF gave me a Yankee candle tealight lamp, which I had at work. It fell off the bookshelf and broke.

At home books were on the edges of some shelves, as were some knicknacks, but nothing broken. The dogs were their usual happy selves to see us/me.

  • We had some things fall in the upstairs bathroom, but nothing broke. Luckily, we don't have anything on the walls yet.
  • The skylight in our master bathroom is damaged.  The earthquake knocked the plaster off the wall around the skylight.  I just hope that it won't leak now, especially with the potential for a lot of rain this weekend.

  • Our house had no damage.  Didn't look like anything had been touched.  My parents had some broken pictures in the floor (some of my wedding pics).  Frames were broken essentially.  The dog's food bowl was turned upside down and his food everywhere.  All the pictures on the wall were crooked.

Poor puppy was hiding underneath a pillow when Mom got home.  He is flighty anyway (rescue dog from abused home).  Poor thing Sad
