How was Frankenmuth and Bronners?

My first time to both places was about 3 years ago and I grew up in Michigan!?!?!  My H and I went for my birthday weekend, we had a great time walking around and I could have spent all day in Bronners, but H only could handle about an hour... I really need to get up there before the holidays so I can get a bulb with Morgan's name on it.

Did you have the famous chicken dinner?

Hahahaha.. you're funny Stephanie.  There's no such thing as "butting in" on a public conversation.  All are welcome!!!

You should totally go.  We should seriously orchestrate a Nestie GTG outting.  That would be unreal fun. Cool

Michelle - We had a lot of fun! The weather was beautiful so after we had lunch (Chicken dinner at Zehnders!) we walked around outside for a little bit.  I took some cute pictures of Emma under the Zehnder's sign which I'll post later for you.  She had fun looking at the horse-drawn carriages going up and down the street, and all the flowers were in full bloom so it was really pretty downtown.  We went to Bronner's afterward and had fun there as well.  I used to kinda' dread that place as a kid, but this time I felt myself looking around while my parents sat with Emma. LoL!! I thought "well now this has come full circle". It was pretty funny.  You should sign up for their catalog!! It's so much fun to look through and a bit easier than looking online, although they certainly don't show everything in their catalog.

We used to go their a lot as kids with my parents and grandparents, so I have a lot of fond memories from the whole area.  DH enjoys going as well, but he can only take so much as well... just like your DH! haha! He doesn't have the same sentimental attachment to the place as I do, so it's different for him.  We did go and spend the night back in April (for my birthday) though and had a lot of fun.  Having more than just an afternoon to walk around/relax/swim at the hotel was nice.

Have you signed up at Zehnders for their birthday club? You get a free dinner the month of your birthday, so it's a cool perk.  They also give you a coupon for a free ornament at Bronners and 20% off downstairs at the Zehnder's shops/bakery.  Hopefully you can get up their soon and get an ornament for Morgan!

  • Sounds/looks like you had a great time yesterday.  How did your husband's interview go yesterday?

How did your husband's interview go yesterday?

It actually went really well! They showed him around the office after the interview, which I took as a good sign because why else would they waste 25 minutes of their time if they didn't think you were a good fit based on the prior interview?

I'm assuming they were probably interviewing more people, but who knows.  DH sent his resume in the day after the listing was posted, and they called him the day after that, so it's all been moving pretty quickly thus far.  The human resources lady contacted him yesterday afternoon and told him that it "went well" and that hopefully he'd be hearing from them by today.  I'm trying not to look too far into that statement, but hopefully that means they thought he was a good fit too.

Hoping and praying it works out just because the hours would be better, it'd be closer to home, and the overall environment seems better.

Thanks for asking! I'll keep you posted if we hear anything else :)

Sounds like a great day trip! The first time I walked into Bronners, I think I said out loud, "holy *hit", and I slowly started my way up and down the areas and got lost:) So many things to look at!  My H was next to me the whole time about to lose it and I finally said lets go.. hahaha He has the music was started to drive him crazy..hahah I love it!

When we went Zehnders was so busy for dinner that we had to go to the Bavarian Inn. We both were not that impressed with it, so next time we go Zehnders is a must for us.

I am off to check out their website and sign up for this birthday club that you mention, I had no idea!

I MUST have this.  My best friend in Cali is a big Hello Kitty fan and this would make a great Christmas present for her.  Looks like Ill be planning a trip out there soon!

My entire family is signed up for the birthday club.  My mom, dad, brother, and sister all have birthdays in December.  So we usually go then (make a reservation, so you dont have to wait) and pretty much end up getting half off our bill.  Ill be going in November with DH for my birthday!
