You mentioned in cakenbake's post below that you like the CR-V and the Subaru Tribeca. Do you have both of these vehicles? Can you tell me about the gas mileage and trunk space?
DH and I are looking to trade in my SUV for something with better gas mileage. My 4runner currently gets 14mpg, which sucks. We need something with a good amount of trunk space since we do have 2 large dogs and we also need it to fit Wyatts car seat. Also, are either one of those cars AWD or 4X4? Any other info you can give me would be helpful!
TIA!

Re: **Pookie**
We do have both those cars. 08 CR-V and 09 Tribeca. I would recommend the Tribeca for trunk space, the CR-V really doesn't have that much. I can fit a stroller back there and pile a bunch on top of it, but horizontally there's not much room.
As far as gas mileage, I am embarrassed to say that I don't pay much attention to what we get, but I'm sure it's decent. I think the Tribeca is AWD.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Thanks for the info. I guess I will be adding the Tribeca on the list of cars to check out and will probably look at the CRV as well since we don't take the dogs in the car all that often.
I do love my 2008 CR-V. I get about 26 city/32 highway.
We freaking love the trunk and I can't say enough good things about the space. We use it for everything - traveling with dogs, traveling with a sh!tton of suitcases for when I overpack for cruises, tailgating (it easily fits two cornhole boards, two coolers, two camping chairs and a tent FYI), whatever.
The backseats flip down separately (three different seats) and really easily. We can fit both dog crates in the back without flipping anything down or breaking down the crates. I've had it for three and a half years and 60k miles and really have zero complaints. No mechanical issues (no any issues actually) and I can't recommend it enough.
