Where did you buy your mattress?
It will be a while before we get a new one, but DH and I are in such desperate need of a new mattress I am thinking at least starting to look will help. I have no idea where to begin though! Is it better to go to a department store or a mattress-specific type place?
Our mattress we have now makes us feel so awful. It is about 6 years old and I remember when we bought never being "sure." I struggle making that big of a decision based on laying awkwardly in the middle of a store for 2 minutes...This time I want to make sure we really get something good.

We bought one a few months ago from Costco.com. I found it's equivalent at Mattress Firm and went and tried it out there. It was about $400 less at Costco.
BFP with no treatment!
We looked everywhere about a year ago and Mattress Firm really stood out. They were very clean (I was not about to lay on the visibly dirty mattresses at Mattress Giant 610W), extremely knowledgeable without being pushy, and they have a 100 day guarantee that you can exchange your mattress if you're unhappy with it. They also have good sales and were willing to negotiate below the sale price (at least the one on Post Oak and Westheimer was).
Mattress Expo next to BB&B/Best Buy in The Woodlands. Awesome service and best prices we could find.
I should say, we have a Simmons Beautyrest with the Visco foam on top (it's s smooth top - no pillow top) and we love it!
