Zoo Animals and the Earthquake
The National Zoo
posted a list of how all the animals reacted to the earthquake - it's pretty interesting.
Re: Zoo Animals and the Earthquake
That is fascinating.
Apparently our cat didn't do much this time - she bolted up the stairs and my husband actually thought the first vibration was because of her running -- but during the last earthquake, she was freaked out.
She jumped onto our bed meowing really loudly and climbed on me - all before the quake hit. She actually woke me up and then I felt/heard the rumble. I defintiely always wonder what is about to happen when she freaks out in the middle of the night now.
I wonder if my dog had any reaction. My husband thought she probably freaked out for a few minutes, went back to sleep, and totally forgot about the entire thing by the time we got home from work.
Neat!
I loled at the pandas who were like "wait, what happened?"
I wonder what my dogs did. When I got home I noticed that Murphy's cage was askew, so he probably flipped hisshit at some point. Parker (who isn't caged) was very happy for me to be home. Usually he just comes to the door and is like "oh, it's you" but yesterday he was like "freaking finally!!! omg omg omg you're home!!!"
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
That's pretty interesting. Definitley laughed at the panda reaction (or lack of reaction). I couldn't find my cat after the quake until he reappeared from under the baby's crib, where he never ever goes. I was sort of laughing because he was walking around gingerly, really low to the ground for a while, like, "WTF? I'm staying low, people." When my MIL came up the stairs he bolted back under the crib. Poor little guy.
