Re: Cookware
Bio
I have Ben's Calphalon and my own Emeril. I love my Emeril and rarely use the Calphalon. The Calphalon is probably superior but the Emeril cleans up much quicker. The Calphalon is also very heavy and sometimes I can't even hold a saucepan with one hand. I've had the Emeril about 2-3 years and the Calphalon since Ben moved in. Neither are dishwasher safe.

We registered for a Circulon set from Macy's and we LOVE it. They heat very well, and are really easy to clean. The lady at the store said they are dishwasher safe, but I'm old-school and afraid to test them. I also have a few cast-iron skillets that are awesome. You can use them for just about anything! Be sure to get spatulas/spoons/and other utensils that won't scratch any cookware you decide to get. I think we got a Circulon spatula as a bonus gift for getting the cookware set.

I
my Calphalon and I've had it about 1.5 years.
ETA: You asked for details..oops.
We have the Calphalon Contemporary non-stick set. We have some extra omelet pans and added the big covered fry pan too.
It cooks wonderfully and is easy to clean. It is a bit heavier than others, but I personally like the feel of the weight. It isn't super heavy or anything though.
We have the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless full set, a griddle pan and some non-stick accent pieces in the same series - a saute pan with lid and a 5 qt pot with lid. We have had it since last October and I love it.

This is what we got too. We haven't opened ours yet, but my parents have the same set and I've been cooking on them for about a year. I use them everyday, and put them in the dishwasher. They heat quickly and evenly, the sear pans actually do sear very well for non-stick, and the coating hasn't chipped, cracked, or peeled even a little. Eventually I'd like to get a big Le Creuset-type pot and a cast iron skillet or two for specific uses, but for the vast majority of my cooking, these pans have been really great.
I've had a big set of stainless steel cookware that I hardly use. *Sigh, I should probably use them more.* My favorite: We received this as a wedding gift... Cuisinart 12'' Deep, non-stick Pan. I absolutely love this pan! It is so easy to clean, very durable and cooks like a champ.
