XP: Rehobeth, Bethany Beach, Lewes, DE - need recommendations please
Hi ladies. Coming over from the NJ board to ask a favor. We're heading down to DE this weekend, assuming Irene doesn't cause too much trouble. I'm making a list of restaurants and things to do. So far I've got:
1. The pirate ship in Lewes
2. Funland
3. Fish Tales in Ocean City, MD
4. Grotto's pizza
5. JD's Filling Station
6. Nicola's
7. Claws Crab House
8. Go Fish
9. Dogfish Head
10. Pig and Fish
What else? Katie is almost 2 and incredibly active, so we want to keep her busy during the day and tire her out. The resort we're staying at has a beach and a bunch of pools, so we're covered there.

Wow, how long are you staying? That's a pretty big list. Has your DD been to the beach before? C get's such a big kick out of the sand and water, that we don't feel like we need to plan a ton of other stuff to do.
I only ever go to Rehoboth for the outlets (which are awesome!), but Bethany has a little board walk that is pretty toddler-friendly. We like the Cottage Cafe for breakfast (decent buffet). I'm actually not a huge fan of Grotto, though it's kind of an institution.
Ha! It's just a list of possibilities. Nothing is set in stone except Funland since our friends have raved about it for kids my daughter's age.
She hasn't been to the beach so I don't know if she'll like it or hate it. And if the weather is crappy we won't be able to go until later in the week.
Oooh, outlets? We LOVE outlets.

Ditto Dos Locos (haven't been to Cottage Cafe) - they even have those cute smiley face fries!
Funland was great for DS (who was 19 months when we went). He really enjoyed just walking up and down the boardwalk and even the main strip in Rehoboth people watching. He didn't want to sit, but he was happy to walk around holding our hands.
I've never been, but the outlets were our rainy-day plan (we passed them going to the beach).
Dogfish Head is awesome. Highly recommend it (both the restaurant in Rehobeth and the brewery in Milton). You can do the tour, as a PP stated, but you typically need tickets for a weekend. My ILs walked in for a tasting (you can do that without a tour -- 5 beers for free!) and they had some no shows so they got to go on a tour as well, but that was a weekday. Might be worth a shot if you are interested.
Pig and Fish has a sister restaurant called The Pickled Pig which is in one of the strip malls out near the outlets. We had dinner there and they had an amazing craft beer selection. Super high quality stuff, really decent prices.
We basically went for the Dogfish tour and the beer, so I don't have many other suggestions!

Well damn! That stinks. Thanks for the head's up.
And thank you to everyone else who replied. I hope we can get down there before we lose too much vacation time to Irene.
