Yea, I'm slowly doing things that need to be done around the house. I keep trying to distract myself with things, but it's not working too well, not much going on tonight here, on fb, tv, etc.
I guess I'll get down to pricing out the camera we will get, and figuring out who has the best price. I think we've decided on the Canon T3i. You'd think I'd be all about getting on that since we really want a DSLR, but I'm just dragging my feet. I need to get it ordered though, because we need time to learn how to use it! Plus, we can't order it until next week anyway, because that's when we get our new credit cards. We could put it on the debit card or pay cash, but we want the points/cash back from using our card.
DH is helping his sister move tonight, so I've been without him most of the day. It's okay, especially because he works from home both tomorrow (for my MD apt.) and Friday (always does on Friday).
We have a wedding I'm dreading going to on Saturday, it's about two hours away, and I'm just done with travelling, although we will be back in the PM. We'll be up 2 hours, there for about 2-3, and home 2. It's a wedding for DH's side of the family, and we basically just sit there until it's time to leave. I'm going to be frustrated with having to answer the same questions 50 times for everyone in his family. I don't mind talking about the baby, but it's frustrating when it's the same thing over and over.
I'm doing baby laundry tonight for everything we have so far, it will be nice to have that done until we get more clothes.
Well, that's what's mostly going on with me.
I hear you. I admit, that's sometimes why I avoid going to so in-law functions. I don't think people realize there are other things to talk about too. Since it annoys me so much, I really try to find something else to talk about with a pregnant lady, etc.
One of my friends had a shirt that she wore to events where she was around a lot of people. It said:
It's a Boy!
Due Date
Name they choose
Hospital
There might have been more, but that's all I remember.
I know it's not something you can wear to a wedding but when you vented about being asked the same 50 questions- it made me think of that shirt. Wish you could have something like that on Saturday!
One of the most annoying things is when we tell people we haven't set a name in stone, that we are still thinking about names, and don't have one chosen. They almost always then proceed to guess the name....UH, HELLO? Did you not hear me two seconds ago? Or then they start suggesting a ton of names to me. If I wanted their suggestions I would ask for them. I just about never like the names they suggest, and I feel bad saying no to every one they suggest!
This family is super cliquey, and his Mom and sister won't be there, so just us. They all live within 30 rural minutes of each other and know what's up in each others lives, and just talk within their families, or who they talk to usually. So we'll go and talk to a few people, it will be awkward and boring, we'll eat, and then probably leave. I keep trying to get out of going, but DH remains firm in his decision.
Picture the wedding (I'm not dissing anyone who had a wedding like this, but it's NMS): 700-1,000 people in a church hall, fried chicken (with mash potatoes, corn, green beans, bread, and no appetizers. Just not the food I like to eat), the dance floor covered in beer (because everyone is drunk and dancing with their drink) with people slipping (which I almost always do, so I won't be getting on it), and full of extremely conservative, catholic, republicans, who often can only seem to talk about one thing, how they hate the president and helping other people.
Sigh....maybe my OB will tell me I can't travel anymore at my appointment tomorrow.
