to e-mail my parents from last year and ask them to call the school I just interviewed at to tell the principal how awesome I am?
I'm sure it would be, but that doesn't mean I'm not tempted. I so need a job!!!

Re: would it be tacky...
I think it went really well. I would say I rocked it :-) But I have thought all of my interviews went well and this was the 6th one for this school year. It is really starting to chip away at my self-esteem :-( I know it shouldn't because the job market is so tight and I am getting interviews, which is more than a lot of people. But being passed over so many times makes me sad.
No, my county is huge and sucks at letting you know. I have the HR guy's e-mail. I just send him a message and he sends me the 'this position has been offered and accepted by another candidate' e-mail. They call if you do get it though :-)
This one is a full time 5th grade position. After my part-time 5th grade position last year I think I would do really well in this one. I just hope they see that.
Essentially yes. But I think I would stay on the 'sub' list. I might work a little over the summer too. I have trouble officially cutting ties with places that I work. I have been with this company for 8 years, I left at one point for about 2 months when I got a promotion at Target, but I missed my kids so much I came back and worked 2/3 days a week. With Target I worked there for 6 years, quit in '05 and went back to work the Christmas season 2 years ago... maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment.
I think that you should get a few of them to write letters of recommendation. Or ask if they could be used as a reference if needed.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
