Dublin Hotel? ireland nesties and dublin travellers please come in

Hi All and TIA! I know I should probably post on the Travel Board but I think most of you ladies have better advice...

H and I are going to Dublin in mid-October. We have Friday & Saturday booked at the Shelbourne using H's Marriott points but need a place to stay on Thursday as they are fully booked for that night. Looking for something in central Dublin or near The Shelbourne under ?130 - or is that unreasonable? Considering we are really only sleeping there for one night and intend to be out and about for most of the time really don't want to go overboard considering...

Thanks again!

  • I have a list from Liz but I don't know where they are location wise compared to the Shelbourne. They are Bewleys in Ballsbridge, The Schoolhouse and The Davenport and all in d4.

We're heading over next month with my parents and the Four Seasons had some surprisingly low rates and they have a free shuttle downtown. We aren't staying there but it may be worth a look. You could always use the shuttle to get to your other hotel if it's downtown.

  • Your hotel is close to St. Stephen's Green, in Dublin 2.  We stayed at Wynn's Hotel.  It was about a 5 minute walk over the bridge to St. Stephen's Green from our hotel.  It was a pretty good value for the price.

Of course, I'm sure that others will have better recommendations, but that's the best I have for you :)

  • The O'Callaghan Hotels group has a few hotels in the area of the Shelbourne, I've only stayed at the Davenport which was nice enough.  There is also the Conrad Hotel in the area, but that may be slightly more expensive.  Good luck and enjoy Dublin! :)

  • Thanks for the tips all! Will def look those places up this afternoon - with any luck the four seasons will have a deal :)
