Re: Hurricane irene
I hear you. Remember when hurricanes were so fun because we got off of school. Over that! I'd rather be at work!
Yes and all we'd do is ride our bikes around the 'hood b/c there was nothing else to do. Those were the days. Now, I've got hit the stores tonight and stuff to be prepared since we're out of town Saturday.
Um so I just read this a on a local weather website.
"Major Hurricane Irene poses a significant threat to life and property from eastern North Carolina to New England. Several well-known computer models across the scientific community have shown Irene bisecting the Delmarva peninsula, or crossing into the Delaware Bay or even drifting into the Chesapeake Bay and slowing down. The impact and property damage potential of that outcome would exceed Katrina.
We would drink, as usual. A bunch of drunk high school kids riding out the "storm". Super safe.
Sounds horrible.
Last year we had a big scare with Hurricane Earle. He passed right through with NO STORM to us or anywhere near the cape.
