Did the aftershock wake you up?

I'm wondering if others got woken up by the aftershock last night around 1am.

It woke me up and I felt the shaking but I didn't get up because I knew it was probably an aftershock. I asked DH if he felt it this morning. He said he slept through it but then later he said he must have felt it because he has a vague memory of thinking that we needed to get the kids out of bed and go outside.

Me neither. But I also slept right through last's years earthquake, so that's not terribly surprising.

  • Yes, I woke up to the house shaking - glad I wasn't the only one!

  • It did not wake me up but I was awake because DD decided that she would rather be playing with Play Dough at 1am than sleeping. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr..... But our house did shake.

  • I remember waking up feeling something and thinking "i need to remember this" but i don'tquite remember the time or anything.
  • DH woke up, I didn't.
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
  • I was awake and will admit it.  It freaked me out.  I woke up hubby screaming "earthquake" and he looked at me and went back to sleep.  Hmph!
  • I think it woke DS up but I had no idea why he woke up screaming (not just fussing) around 1am. Now I know why!

  • It did and I was pissed! I did not get a good night's sleep Tuesday night and needed to have a good night last night! Luckily I fell back asleep pretty quickly.

  • I was awake.  I asked DH right after if he felt it, he said yes, but when he's asleep and I ask him a question, he always says "yup!"

At first I thought it was a helicopter, but then the dresser creaked, and that doesn't happen when it's a helicopter.  Then my dogs were freaked out for the rest of the night.

  • DS woke up and told me he was scared, and when I asked why, he said "mosquitos" :)

Now I know the real reason! Of course, at the time, we had just finished watching the movie "Saw", and the little girl comes out to tell her dad she's scared of the man in her room, and when he puts her back in bed, she gets kidnapped Indifferent

No more scary movies for me after 10pm!!! ;)

  • I think I woke up a little before 1, but I think it was a random thing.  I don't remember any shaking, so I must have been asleep again by the time the aftershock hit.

  • I woke up to go to the bathroom hours after it happened (oblivious) and DH got up to get some water. He said that we had an aftershock, but in my half-asleep state it didn't quite register. Then I remembered this morning what DH said, and asked him if he was imagining things or really felt something. He said the bed shook a little after 1. I felt nothing!

  • I woke up and thought I had a dream about aftershocks.  I felt like I woke up numerous times last night and felt like the bed was shaking so I probably dreamt about it a few times after it happened.
  • No one in my house woke up for it! Not even the dogs.

  • We both completely missed it.
