Anyone use the midwives at St. Joe's?
I've been going to Capital Women's Care but they seem to be systematically overbooking patients and the wait when I get to my appt. is ridiculous. It's just not doable w/ my 18 month old in tow. I'm interested in checking out the Certified Nurse Midwives that practice at St. Joe's (Women's Health Associates). Has anyone gone to them? What has your experience been? TIA for any input!!

Re: Anyone use the midwives at St. Joe's?
My friend used CWC with her first baby then switched to the midwives for her next 3 babies and has nothing but good things to say about them! I would def give them a try.
My OB, Joanne Lim is great and delivers at St. Joe's also. She has an office right at the hospital and also in Perry Hall.
Interesting that you said that about CWC...when I used them a few years back I noticed the exact same thing about their St. Joe's office and I got really annoyed...and I don't even have a todler to tote along with me! I also found their staff to be rude and short. I know a lot of girls on the board use CWC and like them but I when my doctor left (Dr. Czyeski) to go to Perinatal Associates at GBMC, I followed right along with her and was so happy that she got out of CWC.
Granted I just go for annual visits, but every time I've been in or had to call Perinatal Associates with an issue or Rx refil, they're on the ball. I generally see my doc at their Loch Raven Blvd office and am always in and out.
So, if you're set on St. Joe's, I can't give you midwife recommendations but if you're looking to switch offices, try Perinatal Associates at GBMC.
Wow, I could have typed that exacts.... I have been having a horrible time with them. I LOVE my OB but I hate everyone else in the practice. If you find out anything regarding the Midwives, can you email me - lenebene@gmail dot com. Thanks!!

I go to Dr. Hunter at Perinatal Associates, and she's great. I have been seeing her since high school, although my first ever GYN appt was with Dr. Khouzami before Dr. Hunter joined the practice... he was good too, has been there forever. My mom sees Dr. Weitz who delivered my twin brothers, but she's primarily high-risk and I'm not sure weather or not she accepts new patients. There was a time when she was not. Overall the practice was very nice, but not sure how you feel about GBMC as a birthing place... they're pretty high on c-sections and some people don't like that. I myself am actually thinking of switching to another hospital or birthing center/midwife group when we start TTC.
I can't speak to that MW group, but I had DS w/ midwives down here and they (and their small office staff) were fabulous with DD at all of my appointments. I took her to almost every appointment and when needed the office nurse would take her and color with her, they had books and a little play area for kids, etc. It was a lot more child-friendly than my old OB's office.
Maybe you could do a little meet and greet with them w/ your DD and see how their office is?
