Wow! Is it weird that I'm actually not that worried about the hurricane potentially hitting New England and maybe even a bit excited?! Our paper this morning showed the projected path with the eye possibly going right over Hartford and said we could expect maybe a Catagory 2 storm. We're going out tonight to buy some supplies in case the power goes out and I'm hoping the shelves aren't empty already.
Do any of you MA girls remember Hurricane Gloria? I remember it hitting MA when I was little and I was excited because my grandmother came to stay with us during the storm.
Re: Hurricane Irene
I remember Bob... I was living in Maine then and we lost power for almost 2 weeks. I have a vague memory of my parents taping the windows for Gloria but I don't really remember that one as much.
Bob & The No-Name Storm were the big ones for me!
I'm mostly hoping this storm doesn't push me into labor... I want to hold off for as long as I can!
Oh ya! I've heard that there really is a correlation between women going into labor and drops in barometric pressure. Stay put little girl!!
I remember my parents taping our windows for Gloria. The last hurricane I was in was Fran down in NC. We didn't have power for a week and it was hotter than hates after the storm. We cooked in our camping trailer and our neighbors all came over for cookouts so we could use up our meats before they went bad.
I remember taping up our windows for Bob and my dad freaking out about his lobster traps and having to move them all off shore.
I really hope it isn't bad for his sake, he has a lot of money sitting in the ocean and I worry about his boat. I'm sure he's going to have a few restless days. I also don't want to lose power because my husband will be a baby.

I remember Gloria, Bob and Andrew. Those were the biggies. We were without power for over a week with each of them and stuck down our road for a few days with Bob due to trees down.
I'm not nervous at all, and a little excited also. I love storms. Pat will probably be at the station covering so Stryker and I will chill out and hold down the fort!

Yeah I'm not worried. And won't get more than a normally would at the store for a given week. I'll go Saturday morning to get our groceries instead of Sunday so I'm not out and about during the storm, but that's it.
I have my friend's bachelorette party Saturday afternoon/night. I'm just hoping the rain holds off until overnight...or at least not in the afternoon because we were supposed to go minigolfing!
I was really young during hurricane Gloria but a tree fell on my parents' house and put a hole in the room of the dining room.
