It never fails (birthday related)
It never fails. Every year someone tries to surprise me with something birthday related and I always - ALWAYS - somehow find out. Without trying. I really love surprises, so I don't snoop - it's always just some weird thing that happens by coincidence. Like my coworker walking in with a cake in his hand this morning. On the upside - I have great coworkers, and, I love CAKE!
(My b-day is tomorrow, but I'm taking tomorrow off, so I suspect they'll do the cake thing at our staff meeting today at 11:00).
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
Re: It never fails (birthday related)
This reminds me of a coversation I recently had with DH in reference to me turning 30 next month:
As we sat down at the dinner table to eat:
DH: Did E say anything to you today? (E is coworker/friend outside of work).
ME: Well yeah, E talks to me all day hun.
DH: Oh ok. Did she say something about what I sent her?
ME: No, just work stuff, why whats up?
DH: Oh nothing. I just sent her something.
ME: Um... WHY are you sending HER something?
DH: stuttering... um nothing... um... just something for your birthday.
ME: WHY are you sending her something for MY birthday.
DH: errrr... ummm... DAMMIT... I sent out a FB invite for your birthday.
ME: Why do you even try to hide these things?! You really suck at this you know.
So if anyone wants to celebrate my big 3-0 on the 30th of September c'mon down to Southern MD because its no longer a secret!
Ha - mine was yesterday and I did all of the planning as well. We're not exchanging gifts this year (taking a combined birthday/anniversary weekend trip instead) but DH couldn't even find the card he bought me. I do know he bought it at least, since he left it in the bag with the groceries I helped unpack last week...
Happy birthday, everyone!
