Interview attire question... (not beating a dead horse, I swear

I have an interview coming up for substitute teaching at a charter school.  They only accept a certain amt of subs and there are 2 positions left.  The HR said they were business casual and I didn't need to be 'dressed' up for the interview.

I know, I know... I do have a suit.  Do I just go in my suit and carry my jacket? or do black dress pants with a jacket vs. a skirt?  These interviews aren't usually that intense, but I'm not sure since this is a charter school.

Thanks!

  • I wouldn't want to dress up with a suit. I think fitting in with the interviewers is the best idea. Just make sure you look presentable and you wear what you'd like to see on your child's teacher.

(I went to a very southern private school and the teachers were more casually dressed than a lot of the students.)

Yes, this was the way I was leaning for attire... Thanks!

I think this is a good way to be formal, but still not over-dressed.  I wouldn't have thought of it but think it is a really good idea.

Maybe go less formal on accessories.  No pearls, for example, but simple diamond studded earrings, or even a colorful necklace.
