Losing faith in True Blood

Every week I wait for it to get better. Last week it sort of redeemed itself. I'll watch next week but it's so hard when I get halfway through an episode and would rather just shut it off than finish it.

Anyone else feeling this way?

Re: Losing faith in True Blood

  • I'm not at the point of thinking of turning it off, but I'm definitely not as into it this season as I have been the past few years.
  • I've kinda been losing interest too. I watch it On Demand and I'm usually religious about watching it every Monday night, but lately I've been letting myself fall behind a couple episodes. This season just isn't really doing it for me.

  • This is how I am. I can wait a while before catching up. And I usually do something else while watching it isn't how it used to be. Now I play on the computer or make supper while watching.
  • Not my favorite season either

  • Really? This has been my favorite season so far. I hated the last two seasons.
  • I am underwhelmed by the Sookie/Eric thing, because I read book 4 and loved it- it isn't translating as well to the show.

Otherwise, I think this season is the same as every other in terms of entertainment value.

  • I agree with PP about the Sookie and Eric relationship. I had really high expectations for this season and maybe that's why I'm a little dissapointed. I was a few weeks behind and I'm only a week behind now but I'm not rushing to watch it like I used to.

  • This could be it. Book 4 was my favorite and they are ruining it.

I get that Allan Ball has said they will nothing alike, but I still had hope they would at least keep the sex scenes the same. It's HBO!

I was so looking forward to the shower scene and it was LAME

  • Also underwhelmed with Eric/Sookie. I don't think it's as funny as previous seasons. Season 2 with the Fellowship of the Sun plot... man, I remember laughing so much until I choked. Pam's quips, Lafayette's craziness, etc. Not so much this season.
  • ok so I haven't seen this season aside from extended clips on youtube, but even in prior seasons, I FF thru any scene involving Tara and most involving Sam. I think the actress who plays Tara is gorgeous, but I can't handle that character. So pretty much I watch it for Sookie, even though I am not really a fan of her for this role either. Wait, why do I watch it? Ohhhh yeah :) LOL

I'm the same but Sam is growing on me this season. (I have a feeling this is who the author wants Sookie to end up with. Not sure if that's Alan Ball's intentions.)

I think I'm liking Sam more because I'm liking him more as an actor... seeing his acting along with the woman who plays Maxine. I won't spoil it for you but the last couple of episodes shows their acting ability so much better. I get a kick out of it.

  • I feel the same way. The first and second season, I couldn't wait for the next episode. The third, I was less into it but still kept up. This season I'm a couple eps behind and don't feel like I NEED to see what happens. I think they're losing their touch- the scene where Bill confronts Marni in the graveyard is a good example. It was extremely poorly shot and edited, it was just a confusing foggy mess and I didn't care about what was happening.
