This was the conversation between the dr., DH and myself last night.
DR: Hi, is this little Nixon?
ME: It's Mason
DR: Oh do you call him Nick for short?
DH: No, that's my name.
ME: His name is Mason.
More talk about M not feeling good and as the dr leaves the room he says "Bye Nixon hope you feel better"
wtf, my son's name is MASON.
Then the nurse came in and was giving us our sheet of what to do and she said "Okay well we will send this info to Dr. ABC to follow up"
AGAIN
Uh, that's not our dr! Our dr. is xyz.
I was irritated.
Re: Urgent Care
We have been going to the same pediatricians office since R was born. Of course our doctor (and her usual nurse) always get R's name right, but every receptionist gets it wrong.
They are constantly calling him Wren.
It does me no good to correct it either, because the next time I have someone else and they do the same thing. So, I just let it go.
I dislike Urgent Cares.
We took Elsie to one on a Sunday for an ear infection. They barely looked at her and sent us home with some meds, she was back at our regular dr within 2 weeks because they weren't the correct meds.
Another time we waited almost 45minutes then Elsie got sick all over the exam room while the dr was in there. He did not have good bedside manners at all.
We either now go to Bergens Pediatric ER or wait until our dr office is open.
