We're totally blessed with cousins that run the most fabulous catering company. We talked to them over the weekend about food for Maddox's first birthday and after talking through some of the basics they asked if they could run with it and send me a proposed menu. This is what I just got via email. Looks AMAZING!!! Any thoughts on what we might be missing? Whether you would choose the Tuscan Antipasto or Mediterranean Table? (I'm leaning toward the latter.)
We have about 60 people coming, vast majority are adults since Maddox is obviously still too small to have little buddies of his own. I'm a pescatarian but don't begrudge anyone else land roaming meat. ![]()

OMG. How is he turning 1 already?!
I vote for the Mediterranean Table choice. And it all sounds so good!! Brie cups, brisket, mac & cheese....Yum!

Buffet. I think I'd shoot myself in the head before I'd try to have a 60 person catered event at my house for Maddox's first.

I might skip the kabobs; or make them really short kabobs. Those always seem really hard to eat standing up.
I like the Tuscan grilled veggies.
Mediterranean for me please.
Drooling over the fresh fruit kabobs, mac & cheese and all those yummy cupcakes!
This- I am a total slut for some falafel and tzatziki- yum!
All of that looks awesome.
I think you've got all the bases covered - red meat, white meat, seafood, w/ lotsa veggies and fruits and some cheese. And cake.
I'd be all over the mediterranean table personally. Grilled veggies are good and all, but they can't stand up to cucumber salad w/ feta, hummus and olives.
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!
Lol. Between this and the tchotchkes I'm totally deeming you an honorary Jew for the day.

Hot damn, I just ate dinner but now I'm hungry.
I like the sound of the Tuscan Antipasto, but really, you can't go wrong.
Yeah, I will take both please. Thanks.
I'm loving the tuscan antipasto.good luck.
It looks AWESOME!!!
I'd go with the Mediterranean. the Tuscan looks good but more ordinary? I dunno - not ordinary, but more common.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback. We've decided to go Mediterranean rather than Tuscan. They had Tuscan at another of their parties recently so it feels a bit played out. Delicious. But played out.
Think we're otherwise going to go with the menu as proposed other than requesting some other cupcake flavors. Too much chocolate and not enough vanilla/fruit flavors in the original list. Since we've got 60+ cupcakes to work with, I think a little more variety can't hurt.
So, assuming we all survinve the zombie hurripocalypse, this party should be fab.
