how long is your resume? and how long have you worked?
The older/more experienced I get, the shorter my resume is getting! I'm just in the process of revising and condensing my resume and I think I can get it all onto one page, for the first time in almost a decade. I have 12 years of professional experience and (almost) three degrees, and the resume is getting shorter 
How about you? How long is your resume, and how many years of professional experience are you including?
Do you think shorter is better? why or why not?

My resume is 1 page. 2 degree, 4 jobs, and programs used.
I've been working since I was 16 but my jobs go back to 2006 which is when I got my first "real job" that would apply to my degree. Jobs before that I didn't put because they have nothing to do with my background now. And some of my jobs overlapped so that is why I have so many in only a 5 year time frame.
My resume is 2 pages long. I have experience going back to my PhD thesis in 1996, and I include my publications, old though they are.
I don't think there's a hard and fast rule about length. If you have enough relevant experience, you can definitely go over a page. If you're adding your burger-flipping jobs in HS and it's 2 pages, it's time to re-evaluate. If someone can get the info they need in 1 page, great. If not, IMO it's better to add more info. DH is in a highly technical field with a lot of specific skills. There's no way he'd get away with 1-page resume.

I finally went to a second page this year (although I'm only using half the page) - I've done a lot more with community organizations and being involved as a board member, and I wanted to fit that on there. I've been out of college for 11 years (and I don't mention anything about college other than my degree program).
I saw a resume last week for someone who'd been out of school three years - it was four pages long.

1 page, work history back to 2002, 5 jobs total, only 3 with detailed descriptions (relevant to my specialty), 1 degree.
I think resumes should be limited to 1 page, unless you work in a scientific field or another field which requires you list publications.
Mine is one page and quite condensed. It goes back to 1998 but I've been out of college since 1992 (I'm a old nestie!) and had some jobs for over 6 years.
I tend to agree that resumes should only be one page. Remove any description that a lay person outside your field would understand. As a hiring manager, I'm only looking at your past couple jobs anyway and don't have a lot of time to read multiple pages.
