This forecast doesn't look too good
Irene forecast track. Note the "hurricane" symbol near our coastline. Gah!

Re: This forecast doesn't look too good
No, it doesn't look good. We were supposed to have the LO's first birthday party on Saturday, but most of the guests (grandparents, great-aunts, etc.) won't be able to fly in from Boston.
Bummer!!
But the new pic is adorable!!

That's so disappointing, I'm sorry! One silver lining - that sig pic is TOTALLY cute.
Jinx!
Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised by the Picture People at Springfield Mall, despite the fact that Springfield Mall is where commerce goes to die.
Let me know if you want a playdate with bonus wine drinking for Sunday. Can't promise we'll have power though - we're in Pepco country.
that sucks. i was preparing for the worst but hoping for the best and it just seems like my "hopes" aren't quite working out.
fwiw, i advise anyone that might need anything emergency-kit-related (flashlights, batteries, camp stoves, etc) to get them sooner rather than later. I stopped by target this afternoon to see if they had specific shoes in Sprout's size & decided to pick up an extra flashlight...and the flashlight section was seriously depleted. The clock radios & other radio shelves were also almost empty.
If only it was likely to be safe to be out and about Sunday morning, I'd totally have you all over to our house. Arlington isn't usually *too* bad with power outages.
I've got wine, and guest rooms, and my kids' toys (a complete set of Matchbox cars, American Girl dolls...both sexes should be happy!), two guest rooms and a basement with gas stove - I think you should ALL come to G'ma Pam's and play!
"What is a week-end?"
