WWND- Party and Hurricane & Prayer

So when we planned a birthday BBQ/Bar crawl for this Saturday we were not thinking it would be a hurricane party.  We currently have about 25 people confirmed to come to our compact townhouse Saturday night for the party. We e-mailed guests last night and the majority of them can come Friday night if we move the party up a night to avoid some of Irene.  Now it is suppose to rain Friday too!  I have plans tonight and tomorrow during the day so it makes it really hard to pull off the party a day early.  Moving the party to next week is not pratical as we already have 15 lbs of pork and 8 lbs of beef and everything else, on a good note, we won't starve in the hurricane!

What would Nesties do?  Move the party to attempt to get as many people as there as possible?  Not stress and just stay with Saturday's plan, it is going to rain both nights anyway and embrace the Hurricane Party!

On a more troubling note than the weather causing B-day problems, an immediate family member went to get help this week for addictions and we just found out my Grandma's cancer is back and there is nothing they can do about it :(  This has been a really hard week for my family so please pray for us.

  • It seems like the worst weather predictions are for Sunday, so Saturday may be rainy, but not really, really bad. I'd probably stick to the plans for Saturday and hope your friends are adventurous. :)

    Ditto!

On another note, your family is in my thoughts and prayers!

  • Ditto Wines - I'd stick to your plans.  I had fun drinking with my friends the night of  the Hurricane Isabel :)

I'm sorry you've had so much bad news all at once :(

  • I'm supposed to meet my cousin for her 50th birthday party pub crawl in Old Town Alexandria on Sat. night.  I guess worst case scenario it becomes a hurricane/flood party.  She said she's not going to change the plans.  I'm going to try to make it Sat. night.

Sorry about the other bad news.  Sad

  • Prayers for you and your family- cancer sucks. As pp said, I'd keep your plans.
  • You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope everything works out.

As for the plans, I would stick to the Saturday plans. It may be raining, but it shouldn't be too bad.  Good luck!
