Long-haired nesties...

Please try this (and post a pic!), so I can live vicariously through you. I've seen it floating around various other boards and am dying to try it, but I have short hairs. :(

Re: Long-haired nesties...

  • I cut my hair off a couple weeks ago to shoulder length, but I've been meaning to try this. I may tonight.
  • Hmm... I will try at some point!

  • Amazing.  I'm on it.  Do you think I need a wider headband like that?  All mine are really thin...

It says that the smaller the headband, and the tighter you wrap, the tighter the curls. So I think it'll work with a thin one, you might just wrap looser if you don't want super kinky hair. :)

I dunno why I'm so obsessed with this.

  • I haven't tried this yet, but I had really good luck with the sock bun the other night. It would have been easier if my hair was a little longer, though (I'm at almost collar-bone length.)

  • I have never heard of this...must try...
  • Do you think it would cause a headache?

The people I've seen talking about it say it's pretty comfy. I'm sure if you wrapped it tightly it would have headache-causing potential.

  • Ok, so spur of the moment I have done this.... Sort of!  I have a pretty wide headband and shoulder length hair.  My hair was washed this morning and is used to being washed every morning so it could be gross in the am.

    We shall see!

  • Update, I got big waves, not so much curls but then again my band was super wide.  I really think this works!

The true test will be on my sister's hair...  It doesn't hold curl very well at all.

  • I'm going to have to try this. Maybe sometime this weekend!

  • Seriously, I am mentally challenged when it comes to doing my hair. I either straighten it or wear it up every single day.  But I thought "hey, this looks easy, I can do this"!........  or not. I couldn't do it and gave up.  Either my hair is too long or I'm even more mentally challenged when it comes to hair than I thought.  It's probably the latter.  I shall keep trying though.

  • I did this the other night.  My hair is natually curly, but little wavy curls.  I got big curls from this though!  But it was so hot out that I ended up just putting my hair in a pony tail to get it off my neck.  The curls still held all day though.

  • This is such a great idea! Thanks for posting this!

I tried it twice this week. The first time was after I had worn my hair curly for the day. My hair is naturally curly/wavy. I brushed it and tried the headband curl process. When I took the headband out the next morning, my hair was really wavy. It looked good, but didn't have a lot of curl to it. I think the product I used the day before may have had something to do with the lack  of curls.

The second time I tried it, I washed my hair and let it dry naturally. It was a frizzy mess, but I was able to get it wrapped in the band. The next morning it looked pretty good. It curled nicely, but was a bit flat in the back. The next time I try it I am going to try to position the band a bit higher. Some of the curls toward the front were a tighter/smaller. I am going to try wrapping thicker bunches of hair.
