What is your favorite Pastry Dessert?

I need to think of something to bake for a Seafood Bake/BBQ this weekend.  What is your favorite pastry dessert?  I'm leaning towards some sort of puff pastry, but any ideas are welcome!

  • Are cupcakes considered a pastry? If so, that's my final answer. Actually, wait, no the sh!tty grocery store cupcakes, only the good stuff.
  • when i read dessert i immediately though lava cake.. but you're thinking more along the lines of danish type things right?

i agree with karebear, danishes are pretty good.i think i had a creamcheese something or other one once that was pretty good.

you could just do cream puffs! that sounds divine!

  • Brie with apricot jam baked inside of puff pastry. Now, I know it doesn't sound like a dessert but it TASTES like one. I just get a round of brie, slap some jam (doesn't have to be apricot, any kind will do) and wrap the puff pastry around it. Bake according to the directions and eat with water crackers...mmm...

Danishes are super tasty too...Marrionberries are super good right now and would be delicious in a danish.

This sounds amazing. Anything with cheese that gets melty.
