I think she was trying to make tacos.

This morning I woke up to the refrigerator door wide open and most of the contents of the fridge soured and ruined.  I chalked it up to me somehow leaving it open during another preganancy brain fart and dragged my butt to go grocery shopping again.

Fast forward to tonight when DH and I came home from dinner.  The fridge door was wide open again, but this time the culprit left her marks behind. After a year of living in this apartment and 3 weeks until we move, Marilyn has apparently learned how to open the fridge.  I wonder how long she's been working on mastering this task..weeks, even months perhaps?

She ate a package of tortilla wraps, half a jar of sour cream, leftover chicken and a half a block of cheddar cheese.  I seriously think she was trying to make tacos.

Not looking forward to tomorrow's gastrointestinal problems from tonight's taco party.  Nor am I looking forward to having to rig the fridge so she can't open it the last three weeks we are here.

My dog is a handful and a half.

  • LOL!!! True story: friends of mine train monkeys to be helpers for people in wheelchairs. They have to keep their fridge padlocked with a combination lock because the monkeys can open any "child safety latch" or whatever else they try to use to keep the door shut.
  • Lol! My childhood dog once got into the fridge and ate an entire chocolate cake that my Mom had made for my Sister's birthday. Chocolate is bad for dogs, of course, but she was a freak of nature. She also once ate an entire defrosting turkey on Thanksgiving. Again, no negative effects!

I can't really blame Marilyn for loving tacos. Weirdly, now I'm hungry.

  • Ha ha!  That's too funny!

Our family dog (a small Westie) got up on the table while we were out and ate an entire tub of margarine.  Needless to say, her stomach was quite unhappy for a while.

  • Oh my gosh! I could totally see my dogs trying to do something like this!

I hope she is not too sick from her feast!

  • haha.  That's hilarious.  It reminds me of Baxter from Anchorman.  "You pooped in the refrigerator? And you ate a whole wheel of cheese?  I'm not even mad... that's amazing."
