Re: FFFC/AWF

  • AW...  My baby boy is 10 months old today and we ordered his first birthday party supplies yesterday ::tears::

FFFC...  I asked MIL to make LO a quilt out of his receiving blankets.  I just wanted something simple and she has turned into something else completely.  I.  Hate.  It.  I feel bad about hating it because she has put a LOT of work into it.

  • Edited...  I don't need any more drama right now.  ;)

  • AW part uno: Vegas last weekend was awesome. Gallbladder surgery kicked my butt, so having those three days to look forward to during recovery was awesome. We're already making plans to go back next year.

AW part deux: H actually got his leave approved, so he's been home since Tuesday and leaves Sunday. It's been so great having him back, and I think we finally got the whole "when are we moving to Colorado" thing straightened out. Just have to wait and see if this deployment [the fourth he's been called up for since March, but none have panned out yet] actually works out.

FFFC: AF decided to show up today - with a vengeance. I want to just curl up in a ball and stay home, but today's a super busy day that won't allow for that. At least I have Chips Ahoy cookies...

  • I am so excited because....we are taking SD to Dallas this weekend!!!  This will be our first time to take her out of town.  We picked up my car last weekend and left DH's car in Dallas - so we are taking the train to Ft. Worth - soooo excited about that - NONE of us have been on a train before - and our friends are picking us up at the station.  We are going to go to Northpark to take SD shopping for new school clothes. I am totally thrilled - DH is absolutely thrilled - he kept smiling like such a ninny this morning.  She is going to be dropped off at my office at 5pm today - I can't wait to introduce her to all of my new coworkers.
  • FFFC: Ok so like I have said before H is in China for a year. Well since he left it has beed really hard on me and our conversations on phone or skype are still really short (the time difference is kicking our butts). Well his mom usually drives him nuts when he is here calling him all the time. Since he isnt here I have been talking to her keeping her in the loop. Here's my problem, she tells me to use what time we have to talk to eachother...then she gets online and either interrupts our conversation or she talks to him first and takes up all of his time so I dont get to talk to him. Last night he got online to skype so he called her first b/c she has been bugging the crap out of me to get to talk to him. She talked with him for nearly 45mins and I got 5 mins with him... WTF. She always says she is sorry after the fact but if she was really sorry she would stop doing it.
  • I started today and it really just puts a damper on my day. Blah!

C will be 1 in a little over a month...I can't believe it!!! It's gone by soooo fast! Crying I've been thinking about it for a few months now, but just haven't actually started to get things. That will begin this weekend...at least get the invites done so they will be ready to go out.

H's job allows him to work only 11-13 days out of the month (24 hr shifts), so on the days he's off, he watches C. Well he is wanting me to be a SAHM, so he's contemplating picking up a part time job for the days he's not on shift, so we'll have extra cash and not be strapped down without my income. I feel bad though...yes, I absolutely want to stay at home, but I don't want to take away his time with C. There's a lot more that goes into this and that's a whole other story though.

  • FFFC: It's food day at work...sigh. And to make it worse, the company is buying pizza for lunch so we were told to all bring only dessert items for the food contest. So.Much.Sugar! In the past 2 hours I have had a slice of apple pie, an oreo ball, some chocolate pudding/butterfinger dessert, a slice of heath bar cake, some caramel apple coffee cake, a fruit roll thingy, and a no-bake cookie. Wow, I feel like a complete pig when I type it all out ::takes another bite of chocolate pudding dessert:: I think this will be my "Oh well" day in terms of eating healthy. In fact, I think I'll have a coke at lunch to top it all off Surprise

And a FFFC/AW (which isn't dramatic at all and nobody probably even cares.) I'm only taking 6 hours this semester. Last semester I took 14 hours, worked full time, tutored a girl, and did 30 hours of observing in a high school. It was completely exhausting and I feel like I still haven't fully recovered haha. There were only 2 classes that I could take this semester that fit with my work schedule and I was super excited about that. I don't think I would've been able to only take 6 hours by choice.

  • FFFC: I am going insane with horrible drivers. Seriously. Every morning I have to deal with a slew of slow drivers that figure their brakes should be used as much as their steering wheel. It. Is. Driving. Me. Mad.

Aww: We found out we are leaving Oklahoma in May (as in next year). We were originally scheduled for May 2013 but dh was called to leave earlier so... Oklahoma has been great but I am a little ready to go elsewhere. I am still talking to my department on leaving early and transferring... hopefully I can take if not all, most of my credits with me as I only have 2.5 years remaining for my Ph.D.

  • AW:
G has been sleeping like a rockstar lately *knocks on wood so I don't jinx it*.

Also, our s.e.x life has picked right back up where we left off, thank God.  Our 4 week post-partum hiatus sucked, but we're back to ~3 times/week.  I'm just really happy we were able to get that part of our relationship right back on track.

    FFFC:
Some friends of ours invited us to go float the river with them in a few weeks.  So DH is telling me about it when he got home from work Wednesday night and he says "I told Friend you probably wouldn't want to leave G this soon".  Meanwhile, I'm thinking "float trip?? Hell yes!".  Oops.
Don't get me wrong, I would miss G and it would be hard to leave him BUT it's just a weekend trip and it's not like we'd be leaving him with a stranger.....but maybe I'm a bad mom for being ok with going?  DH is working on a hellacious job right now and has been working weekends, and I don't even know who G would stay with (or who would be willing to keep him overnight) so we very well may not even go, but I WANT to go.  *sigh*

I would so go.  Enjoy your weekend--it's much deserved!  I would have left B. :)

I'm jealous of your float trip.  We had so much fun in July when we went!

It's definitely much-deserved...I think the first time I left JJ overnight was at six months old when H and I did a mini-moon and my mom kept him for a weekend. I missed him, but I was glad we did it. Don't feel bad for wanting to go!

I reeaaaalllly hope we get to go.  It would be so nice to get out of the house, and DH has been working his a$$ off lately so he deserves a break too.  We'll see if DH is able to take the weekend off and we can find someone willing to keep G over night.
  • I love the show Reba. I think it's hilarious.
