I am so sorry to be a last minute bailer but....I can't come tonight. I?m SO bummed because I?m trying to do as many social things as I can before baby comes but we have a bobcat at our house (long story) that needs to be returned after work and DH needs someone to drive him home after he drops it off. I thought we had someone set up but they fell through. Humph. I?m so sorry.
Have a great time! I?ll keep an eye out for the next GTG. Heck, I can even plan it if that?s helpful!
Enjoy ladies!
Re: **Ritzy**
Hey Kristin! Not a problem at all. I appreciate you letting me know. I'll definitely be planning one for next month too, maybe even two because (like you!) I'm trying to be as social as possible before baby time!!
I'm interested to know more about this bobcat story though
I read this and I thought, "Holy crap, you have a jungle animal at your house?? OMG, you need to get on the phone with animal control STAT!" I kid you not. LOL, I am such a dork!
I thought the same thing Mara!!! lol

Me three! Glad I wasn't the only one
Mara, I'm literally laughing out loud in my cube. People think I'm crazy!
The story isn't that great but we just moved into a new house. The house is older - built in the 70's. Well the previous owner put a TON of money into landscape. He poured a half basketball court in the backyard made of asphalt, laid a bunch of brick paths, built brick flower beds, a little brick wall surrounding the beach area, half a dozen brick pillars with HUGE lanterns on top of them. And a lot of it is?.gaudy? Like it would look good on a house four times our size but we?re a smaller, older house.
Anyway, we wanted to get rid of the basketball court because it was in the MIDDLE of our yard and wasn?t in very good shape. And we?re not HUGE gardeners so we wanted to get rid of like half of the flower beds/gardens. And get rid of the pillars and lanterns because we don?t think it matches the house/our personality. So DH rented a bobcat and a dumpster to do this over the weekend. Then it rained? poured?and it stalled the progress. Then it took more dirt to fill in the old basketball court than we were planning on. And because of the rain the bobcat tore up more of our yard that DH was planning so that required some grooming. DH worked on this ALL weekend long and has been working EVERY night this week from the time he gets home until dark.
Well, the bobcat is due back tonight or there?s another nights rental?we paid for a week. There is NO WAY I want to keep that thing any longer and poor DH needs a break! As always, the project took longer and was more work than anyone expected.
Though DH is really good at driving a bobcat and looks kinda cute doing so!
Have fun tonight girls! Eat lots of bread and get lots of hugs!
I probably should not admit to this..
It did not dawn on me until last night AT the GTG that the "bobcat" you were referring to was NOT a "jungle cat". My mind literally was coming up with scenarios like "well maybe her husband works for a rescue shelter or something, but why would there be a bobcat in this area? Maybe someone had it as a pet..."
Clearly now I'm re-reading this thread and it's all clear, but last night.... not so much. I'm gonna' blame this on pregnancy brain.
Hope you can come to the next one!
