I mentioned in the email group yesterday I would start one so how about it ladies.
I know there is a ton of good stuff going on for a bunch of us right now so lets hear about it!
GO!!!
Re: Lets do a big AW post...
Yesterday I was asked to do 2 photoshoots for friends.
One engagement session we will do it on Oct 1st or 2nd depending on weather
and the other is just a possibility right now but it would be a newborn shoot.
SOOOOOOOO Excited!
That IS so exciting!
My AW is that I did my second newborn shoot yesterday for a friend of a friend b/c she saw my friend's newborn photos that I did and loved them. I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, but I need the practice and am loving the opportunity. I have even investigated starting up a business, but have decided to go the sole proprietor route for now. I might still reserve the name I want to use with our town for a whopping $5, though, and I'm investigating having a FB page for it and reserving a domain name and starting a website.
It would still be a glorified hobby for quite awhile, though, and just reserving the names JIC.
Oh, and we're going tonight to look at tile for our kitchen. We're definitely doing a back splash and are investigating doing the floor at the same time! (We have linoleum now that looks like tile.) This would be our first "big" inside project in our new home and a good upgrade on the way to finally getting rid of the carpet on the 1st floor as with tile in the kitchen, I know we'd want to go ahead and do the hardwood in the rest of the rooms to finish it off.
Pat's position finally went from a contract position to a full time (with benefits) position! I am so excited and so excited we'll be saving $6k a year in health insurance.
We're going out tonight to start looking for a new bedroom set.

The fact that our office furniture is up is a big AW. Now we just need to figure out where to put it and start putting our stuff in it!
We will be having one (of many) housewarming parties this Sunday and while the house is not 100% compelte, it is an improvement!
I start up boot camp next week and it is a free week. You can not say no to free.
I am finally healing after the news that my SIL is PG. It is still a tough pill to swallow but I will get there....I hope!
I got a new job!! My last day here is in two weeks (9/8) and I start the new job on 9/12. I am beyond excited to try something different and think I'm really going to like my 2 minute drive to work The 40% raise doesn't hurt, either
With said job, I get a tuition and fee waiver to 3 of the public universities in the state or a tuition only waiver to the others. I think I'm going to go for my doctorate with that.
We are going to pick out stuff to do some upgrades to our kitchen this weekend. We are planning to replace the flooring, get new counter tops, add a tile back splash, and a new sink. We've had the money saved for a while, but have been putting it off until we knew more about what the future held for me job wise.

Lucas took his first steps last Saturday!!. The same day he turned 9 months old.
I got my first CS payment
I got my court date to finalize my divorce (Sept. 15th)
DH got a promotion and we're moving to California!
And I get to quit my job...sometime soon!
If our house doesn't sell within 90 days on the market, DH's company will buy it from us. If it sells before 90 days for less than appraised value, they'll give us the difference between sale price and appraised value.
I got a haircut yesterday. Love it.
We might go to Chicago for a few days in September to see the Brewers play the Cubs and to eat.

CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
I started my new job on Monday. Which is why I haven't been around and probably won't be because I have a hectic teaching schedule.
Also, P started FT daycare this week, and he's doing amazing. Even though I have the worst mommy guilt. We had his summer school potluck dinner this week, and we won a reading basket in the raffle. I think I was more excited than the other members of my family

This is pretty awesome! Go Sherwin Williams! I might have to start exclusively going to them for paint because it sounds like they treat their employees really well.

Wow! Lots of fabulous things going on with everyone!
Jonathan might be getting a new job! His friend that works in the car industry texted him last night and asked him to come for an interview! Not really a raise involved, but it would be a Mon-Fri job! YAY!
Always go to SW for paint!!!!! They treat DH and us sooooo well, I'm ridiculously jealous of how good he's treated. Benes, 401K/ESP, relo packages, etc...
But remember, we have to move every 3-4 years for him to move up! Luckily I don't really mind it, keeps me on my toes! Although I hope by the time we have school aged kids we can stay somewhere for a while. I'd be really sad to move middle schoolers or high schoolers.
