Obviously, our weekend plans are ruined. This was the weekend we were supposed to be in New Hope for my BFF's bachelorette weekend. I feel so disappointed for her, I hope we can plan something else to celebrate for her, but the wedding is only a few weeks away. What a bummer.
And, I'm getting more and more nervous about this storm - how bad is it going to be?? I'm in central NJ, and they are not sure where it's going to hit. And where would I even go to evacuate? So scary!!!!
Re: Vent: Irene
That stinks about your friends plans this weekend!!!
Irene is being such a pain in the butt! Lol we just got a notice to clean off our balcony (aka find a place for 2 patio chairs, 2 bikes and a table in our living room!!) and prepare for power outages. I don't even know where we would go either, especially with 2 dogs! We're heading out to stock up, hopefully everyone will stay safe!

We are leaving for vacation tomorrow but I'm so worried about leaving everyone (family) and our house behind. I'm just praying that everyone and everything is safe!!!
That really stinks for your bachelorette party plans and the bride! I hope you guys can find a time to make it up b/c that is definitely something to look forward to!
We'll be all hunkered down, and I'm thankful that I'm not a manager of the properties so I have no responsibility to go check the properties. That'll be done on Monday when I return to work with the one manager, the other lives on site so she'll see it for herself. I gotta go grocery shopping tomorrow eve for the weekend so we'll have everything we need.

That totally bites! Hopefully she can reschedule.
Can I just say that I'm glad that it isn't hitting when we are supposed to be having our GTG?!
Stay safe ladies and I pray it doesn't hit as bad as they are forecasting!

They are predicting that 70-90% of my town will be flooded on Sunday since it is on the Hudson River and mostly below sea level. The mayor is strongly urging residents to evacuate, but it's not mandatory. It seems like a majority of people are staying put. DH and I struggled last night with what we should do, but we really are not comfortable leaving our 3 cats to fend for themselves and have nowhere we can take them. So, we're going to ride it out at home.
Our apartment is on the second floor so we should be okay. We're moving DH's car back to the municipal garage where he usually parks this afternoon since the spot in our building is at ground level. It's a blessing that we only have the one car right now since the muni garage is almost full and only letting in monthly parkers. We have plenty of bottled water, non-perishable food, flashlight/batteries, and candles. All that's left is to bring in our patio furniture. Keep your fingers crossed that my town doesn't have any major damage. This is really scary!
Man, I really feel for all of you ladies. Lor, you don't have any family that is out of the flood zone that would be okay housing you guys and your cats? It makes me nervous that you guys are staying there because the flooding can make you guys stranded for a long time, too, and without power!
Please, all of you ladies stay safe!!!
