Christina's response to her post below made me realize I should prolly follow-up to mine.
I decided to shy away from the $200 j.crew dress I was oogling... my CC is thankful.
Instead, thanks to Ames and her super-sleuthing, I decided on this one from Newport News, and with a pricetag of $49, you can't go wrong!

AND I bought it in a size smaller, so booyah, motivation!
Also bought these heels, on clearance, at Target:

And the wedding's not 'til November, but right now I'd rather be ahead of the game. w00t!

It is. Here's another view:
I figure I can just wear a cropped cardi whenever outside or feeling chill, but strapless never bothered me much for late fall weddings, especially if there are a lot of people, a lot of drinks, and lots of dancing!

I'm hoping to get a few good family photos at the wedding, especially with Chris and Sami being so dressed up for the occassion!

Thats what we were saying -- a vintage-like necklace from F21 and simple earrings. I have yet to get that far because I think I want to see what the dress looks like first, and if I can even pull it off. THEN we will start with the accessorizing. ;D
