Attire-- is this ok for 2nd interview??

I have a 2nd interview next week for a job I first interviewed with last Thursday (yay!).  For the first interview, I wore a black skirt suit with a patterned top underneath.  I don't have the matching pants for this jacket- just the skirt.

I also have a light gray suit jacket from Macy's with no matching bottoms.  Can I wear this with black slacks and heels for the 2nd interview?  Or should I go out and buy a 2nd suit?

FYI- the office is business casual- the men wear ties but no jackets and the women wear slacks and tops/blouses.

 Thanks!!!

  • Wear the same suit with a different top.  No one but you will know.
  • I think you can wear the jacket and pants. Suits are preferable, but I think in a less conservative office, you're fine with a nice ensemble that includes a jacket.

  • Just wear the same suit with a different top, and maybe different jewelry and shoes. Like dalm0m said, no one will notice. A second suit isn't necessary, and I err on the side of suits for most interviews.

I do this all the time. No one will know, especially if you switch up the accessories a little (but keep them professional). Honestly, the first round of interviews is a lot of people -- they won't even remember what you wore (unless it was really bad).

  • Hmm- you are right that no one will remember what I wore.  I hadn't thought about it like that.  It was just a plain black suit so shouldn't have stood out.

    Thanks!!
