::sigh:: My SIL

I think I may have mentioned that my SIL had her almost 2 year old daughter taken away from her because of some abuse allegations made by the baby daddy a while ago...well things have gotten so bad that she is now charged with two different felony counts of abuse.  She emphatically denies the abuse.  But, her daughter recently had some x-rays and a full body scan which showed 14 broken ribs, and breaks in her pelvic bones. Sad  Seriously!?!?  I know children have accidents all the time, but how is it possible to have that many broken bones?

She is currently pregnant and that baby is due in October so I'm sure that one will be taken away as well until this all gets sorted out.

MIL has put up probably over 4k to help her out with legal fees and bailing her out of jail (which I think is absurd as his mom complains she doesn't have money to buy herself a new car)

I really don't know who and/or what to believe because I am hearing everything fourth hand (Shaun talks to his mom not directly to his sister).

For the daughter's sake (and the future baby), I hope the truth comes out and that the best interests of the children are protected.

Any extra prayers you have that this gets sorted out would be appreciated.  Thanks ladies!

  • I'm so sorry that you and your family are going through this terrible time. Many vibes that your SILs babies are ok and safe and that things resolve in the best way possible for all involved and gets the help they need.
  • Sending lots of vibes for SILs babies that they get the care they need and deserve. Kids shouldn't have to go through anything like that at any point in their life.

  • Oh wow Mel that's tough! It's so hard because you don't want to believe those things, especially about family, but it sounds like the evidence against her is pretty strong - that's a lot of broken bones. At the same time, what a horrible thing to be accused of if you really didn't do anything!

    I hope the truth comes out, I think that's the best you can wish for like you said!

  • Sending many thoughts to that poor little girl - I can't imagine what pain she's in!  Hope that everything works out best for the kids!
