Though I know we're all supposed to be expecting that tramp, Irene..I was wondering what everyone's plans are. Are you making emergency type plans at all?
I find myself kind of annoyed by the hype of it all, yes - the Mayor made a speech and we have evacuation plans, but thats what they are: plans, in case of emergency. I think we're going to see some pretty heavy rain, but dont think its going to be anything crazy. We are going to prepare to an extent though...
Today/Friday: DH and I are going to food shop for a couple of items (Im sure with the rest of the world) when he gets home from work. This way, I don't have to leave the house this weekend if I don't want to. We're also going to Babies R US so I can pick up some of the travel bottles of ready to feed formula for Avery. This way, if we do happen to lose electricity, I can still feed her without worrying. Then its pizza/movie night like it always is.
Saturday: I was supposed to take an exam at school, but I think they will be closed. Im going to bake, and make something good for us. I think paella. Some friends are supposed to come over.
Sunday: Im going to seriously clean this house. Im in the mood to rip the whole thing apart and get into one of my serious cleaning fits. I get crazy. My husband says Im obsessive, I just like to clean. LOL
Re: Weekend plans?
I was supposed to be having two former coworkers from back home visiting this weekend and it is looking like a big no, thanks to Irene!!
Plan now is to prep as much as possible for this bad weather. And snuggle up and pray that our house makes it through without damage. No other plans for now.

Definitely nothing planned. Now they we have decided to stay home, I will have plenty of time to clean and pack for our trip on Wednesday (hopefully...as long as Newark airport is still intact).
I do need to see if I can possibly get flashlights, but by the time I get to home depot, they will probably be all sold out. Once DD gets up from her nap, I am going to head over there. I went to the grocery store last night and bought 3 cases of water along with a bunch of non-perishable stuff incase the power is out. The fridge was already bare, so if the power does go out, we won't lose too many perishable items.
Be safe!
DH and i are in NM, so our weekend carries on as normal!!
Yesterday: drove 3hrs from Roswell, NM to Las Cruces, NM. We were visiting my sister, BIL and niece in Roswell and had such a great time! My 2yr old niece is such a cute little devil! And i lost it when they took her to daycare yesterday morning.
When we got to my parents in Las Cruces, we went to lunch then shopped at Kohls then had coffee with a former theatre professor/friend of mine and then dinner back at home. Whew!!
Today: DH was on hold for over an hour with Expedia, then he tried American Airlines to change his flight that got cancelled for tomorrow. Turns out, the earliest they can get him on a flight back to NYC is *Friday*! So he's here another week with me! (i'm leaving on Friday, originally) Then i took a 2hr nap, then lunch with my bro and his gf, then to my bff's for a few hours then back home for dinner. Whew!
Tomorrow: look at open houses with my mom...just cuz...
Then my bff's oldest is turning 6 so we're going to his party and then out to dinner with them.
Good times!!
Hope you all are staying safe!! We should do some sort of 'roll call' when Irene is over.
