Kendra it is the most incredible book series I have ever read.
Here is a synopsis from Goodreads (No spoilers)
The year is 1945. It is really slow to start but once you are in you are in. The writing is amazing. she is so descriptive and I literally lose track of everything when reading these books. I'm listening to book #2 right now while I run and I can totally zone out and not even realize I'm running. (Thats another way I know it is good. haha)

Oh my god! How many books do you think she will end up doing? If she went that route there is no way she will end it at 8 she couldn't wrap it up. THANK GOD!
I KNOW! I thought Book 8 would maybe be the end ... I read somewhere on her blog a LONG time ago that it was planned to end in year 1800, and that it ends well. But that's still 20 some years away from where book 7 ended ... so maybe book 9? I don't know if I can wait for book 9 or 10?!

First I have to say that I LOVE that we are texting and on here talking about this at the same time. We have issues.
2nd I think it will be at least 9 because I was reading a little while ago about how her original deal was for 3 then 4 then 6 then she just kept writing.
Ooooo! Sounds like my kind of book! I'm going to have to get the first one!
Where do you get the "books on tape"? I could totally listen to that while I walk to work.

Kendra I have been using audible.com (When I signed up I got 2 free credits (1 credit = 1 book - usually) But you may be able to get them at the library too. I love audible because it downloads to my itunes account and then I use my phone to listen.
Um on her website she has her list of books and under Outlander it has a Prequel listed... I had no idea she would do one of those. I want her to finish the story first then she can go backwards!
Have you read any of LJG's series?

I haven't read any of the LJG series. Although, it does give insight into certain periods of Jamie's life that might be interesting (crucial, even?) to the stories. She says they are essentially part of the Outlander series. Maybe I should read them. Have you?

Ugh.... what if it isn't a happy ending? I will seriously bawl my freaking eyes out! (Not that I won't when it ends no matter what!)
I haven't read them yet though I think I will before book 8 comes out. Any chance to spend time with Jamie sounds good to me. hehe. LJG isn't my fav character but I'll deal.
I've been searching for that post I saw a long time ago, but no luck ... I am sure it will be a happy ending (I have to hope!). Now happy to me might mean something different than it does for DG, but I'm sure what I think is what you think too.
I don't like the twist at the end of Echo with LJG and C. He's just strange.

Sarah I have one more comment since I read farther down the page...
A prequel is under contract, but not touched yet. There is no publication date set. It will detail the story of Jamie?s parents, Brian and Ellen Fraser. Diana has mentioned that she will do the prequel in three short novellas.
That would be cool!
I read that too! It would be very cool. Will it somehow tie into book 8???? (think about it)

Ok, so i am torturing myself not to click on the link! I'm only on book #3 and i don't want to spoil it for myself....but boy are my fingers itching to click the mouse!! LOL! I agree with you girls, these books are amazing!! I'm sooooo glad i picked up and kept up with the first one. I looooove me some Jamie!
