Ultrasound #6 is scheduled

I think I am single-handedly going to make our insurance rates go up next year!

Baby B is comfy on his back (last appointment we saw that he has flipped and is head down, but still on his back as he was for each of the previous u/s's).  So my OB can't see his lower spine.  It's the one measurement and picture that she needs to get yet.  So I have my 6th u/s scheduled, this time with a perinatologist.

She's not concerned at all since his head / skull / brain, legs, and upper spine all look good and if there were an issue with his spine, she would see indicators in those locations.  She said she just needs to confirm that he does not have spina bifida.  If he would have it, it would greatly affect how I would deliver, so she just needs to know 100%.

Oh and good news: first GD test at 20 weeks: 99 (cutoff 140), second GD test at 28 weeks: 89 (cutoff 140).  No GD here!

  • Yay! I'm glad you and baby are being looked after so well!

  • I think he is being stubborn so he can get used to being in front of a camera!

Glad things look good. Congrats on the awesome news about GD. :)

  • He is getting lots of practice in front of the camera!  I am glad to hear that all is well!

Why did you have to do two GD tests?

Haha, thanks ladies! Yes, he is a stubborn one. I think he's hiding from the camera though because he buries his face every time too :)

As far as the 2 GD tests ... There is a history of diabetes in my family and glucose is in my urine test every appointment which is not typical in women w/o GD. So they thought if I had it, they'd catch it early and then when the test came back good they said they just wanted to do the screen again in the third tri when it usuallt shows up in women who have it. Clearly I am just an odd duck :)
