OK, so serious question (not about the dramz; it's about the s-e-x)

So, many are against having sex while co-sleeping child in sleeping/in room, etc.  Makes sense.

BUT, what do you do when, for example, you're on vacation - maybe sharing one hotel room or something?

Is it still off-limits?

Perhaps I should make a poll.  Or perhaps you weinies will answer.

  • That's a no-no for me.

  • Well when we first had DD, we lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with DH's best friend. So, DD's crib was in our room until she was 6 months old, and DH's friend moved out.

So, next time I see CoriA she can smack me.

  • I have had sex with kids/adults in our hotel room, in our camper, in our house. They were all sleeping, well I hope so! Stick out tongue

  • I don't know but we will be staying in a hotel tomorrow night so I can let you know how it goes! Oh and we will be sharing the room with my sIL and nephew....does that make a difference???? ;)

I will make sure that I don't smack you to hard! :)

It is a HUGE no-no to me. If they are a tiny baby then maybe not quite so bad, but still not happening at my house. I'm not naming names, but I'm sure that you all recall the BIG debate and the kids in question were the same age and older than C. Seriously...that is gross.

  • M slept in the bassinet next to our bed for 5 months.  Yes we did have sex during that five months.

    Flame away.

Honestly, I feel weird about it to. It is a tad creepy.

Does it help that we had a 14 foot walk in closet, so we were technically in another room? Embarrassed

  • Logistically, I guess the parents could go to the bathroom and have shower sex as long as the kid is dead-to-the-world asleep.  That's my only contribution.

When we were on vacation in July and obviously had one hotel room for all 3 of us, there was no nookie whatsoever.

And when people are at home, why can't they just have sex in a different room?

    YES!  Haha!

I can't even do it with a pet in the room!  LOL!

  • Sex in same room as sleeping infant, on vacay = little weird, not for me, but methinks no big deal.

Sex in same room as older baby/toddler/older kid, vacay or home = no can do. Weird. Not dying to have sex so much I can't wait or take it to another room/another time.

You know, this whole thing is funny to me, because I have only been flamed on the Nest a couple of times, and once was for this.

Evidently, a lot of ladies on the 0-6 month board (before the boards were divided) thought it was immature that I would only have sex with my husband in the closet. I was given a pretty sweet verbal lashing at the time.

  • Eh, I have no guilt about it at all.  Honestly, I never even thought twice about it.   Yea sure we could have gone to a different room, but he was sound asleep.

    I do agree with this.

  • Oh good grief :) we stopped doing that a long time ago...how old is your C, CoriA? I forget. Anyway, my sister was living in our guest room from Feb 09 thru Jan '10 so obvs we couldn't use other rooms if she was at home (which she usually was as she was only 17 at the time). the big debate happened around Turkey Day 09, and I made some silly comment about trying to be quiet or something, ha! I guess I don't really understand why the kids in the room vs other adults in the room makes a difference. I have no guilt about it, and if I had thought there was any way the kids would have woken up, been confused, bothered, etc, we wouldn't have been doing it in the first place. I understand everyone has their own (strong) opinions about this, but that's my 2 cents for now. I hate typing on my phone so sorry for any typos :)

They would've loved me; I'm not sure I even had sex before the kid was 6 months!  HA!

  • On vacation? No. Not unless there is another room (bathroom or closet - whatever!). But, then again... my parents did once and I woke up in the middle of it when I was probably 8 or 9. EWWWWWWWW
