So, aside from hunkering down, what are your weekend plans?

I will be surprised if it's the end of the world like people are making it out to be...

Tonight - clean, laundry, make dinner...

Tomorrow - finish laundry and hang some pictures, maybe organize the office.  I attempted the office a couple weeks ago buy gave up.

Sunday - buying a car!  hopefully we'll have power! and then maybe going out to celebrate said new car...

Re: So, aside from hunkering down, what are your weekend plans?

  • i don't think it's the end of the world but i do fully expect to be without power for about 3 days. if we can lose power for a thunderstorm, i fully expect to lose it with 35-75mph sustained wind with stronger gusts.

tonight: dinner, bring in patio furniture

tomorrow: in the AM before it rains, I hope to go to the farmer's market or at least go out for breakfast.  then take the baby to the park for a bit.

once it starts to rain, we've got a whole list of things we've been meaning to do inside but haven't gotten around to it: put some stuff in the attic, sort through & store the clothes sprout has outgrown, start sprout's baby book (!!), hang some frames, organize the mudroom, etc.

sunday: likely hunkering.  and maybe going to work depending on the situation with the storm.

  • DH is traveling, so I'm solo for the weekend....

Tonight:  either happy hour or cleaning the house.  I definitely have a preference as to which I'd like...

Tomorrow:  I'm heading up to Ellicott City to meet some girls for lunch that I "made friends" with when I was on the DW board of the Knot planning my wedding.  I've got a little running around to do, bring in the patio furniture, etc.

Sunday:  I, too, fully expect to have no power and will be pleasantly surprised if I do.  I'll probably just lounge around all day, maybe head up to Maple Lawn where it seems like they never lose power....

Exciting stuff... I know... don't be jealous.

  • Tonight: Making a shrimp pesto pasta with basil that I grew on my deck. We'll also finish the movie we were watching last night.

Saturday: If it's not raining in the morning, take the kids for a walk. I'm supposed to go out for sushi tomorrow night for a friend's birthday but I'm betting this will get cancelled.

Sunday: I expect to be out of electricity. If not, make a pasta salad for a potluck at work on Monday.

So, nothing really all that exciting.

  • My sister, her boyfriend, and his daughter are visiting and will be here soon - all very good company, looking forward to it.

Tonight - Gonzo's Nose at the summer's last Friday Night Live! Hopefully will get to dance with Pam and Tonesq too!

Saturday - Nothing concrete planned but all of us spending time with our brother, SIL, and their kids. At night we might go see Otto's gig if it's still on in Occoquan. If we're stuck home I guarantee there will be much alcohol and karaoke goin' on in our basement.

Sunday - Hunkering down with lots of good reading, organizing, and business homework to do.

  • Tonight - Attempting to go to the grocery store to get some non-perishables, bringing in the lawn furniture.

Saturday - If it's not raining, I start 5K training.  Pray for me.  Once it starts raining, we will be in the rest of the day, cleaning, watching movies, cooking (if there is power) and sewing.

Sunday - I'm supposed to go to a baby shower at 2:00pm.  So we shall see.

  • Tonight- attempting to do normal grocery shopping if 1) it's not a mad house and 2) if there's anything left. Maybe watch the first part of movie 7 of HP (I finally finished the books).

Tomorrow- work out, stay in and organize, watch TV, and/or play Wii games. We were supposed to go to 2 picnics, but they're obviously canceled now.

Sunday- Church (if it's not canceled, since we meet in a school and they call the shots), maybe seeing the last HP movie, maybe dinner at Zengo with a friend... totally depend on the weather, which is irritating because I like to plan out my weekend in advance.

  • Tonight: Get in bed early and try to forget today. The LOs have been crazy, and mama needs a break!

Tomorrow: 12 mile run in the AM, and then just hanging out. We had to cancel the LOs first birthday party b/c of the storm, but we might still let them open a few gifts b/c frankly, I can't handle another day of playing with the toys we do have

Sunday: Clean-up, maybe have ILs over to give DH and I a break for a bit.

  • Tonight:  Dinner with two of my best friends from middle/high school.

Tomorrow: Run some errands, check out the sale at Macy's, have a nice dinner and bottle of wine at home.

Sunday:  Stay in, get some stuff down around the house, hope that we don't have too much storm damage to clean up, call my parents and grandparents in DE to make sure they weren't swept out to sea...

  • We left! We are in Ohio for a wedding, flew out of BWI and hopefully we make it back on Sunday but if not oh well.  We'll have power :)
  • It's hot and dry her in Southern Oregon.

At the moment, I'm on the couch watching Project Runway. When it's over, I'll likely go up to bed & read until I fall asleep.

Tomorrow & Sunday: No real plans. I am still spending a lot of time resting my leg, though my actual injury has been determined by my physical therapist to be in my lower spine. Anyway, I can't do anything too strenuous. I need to grocery shop. We have The Lincoln Lawyer from Netflix, so we'll probably watch that.
