AW: Weight Loss

I've hit a major milestone in my weight loss/healthy living journey. One year ago, I was at my heaviest weight ever...a number I thought didn't exist. I've lost 30 pounds since then! I'm not too far off from my college-weight of 115 lbs.

DH and I go to the gym together every weekday after work and have totally overhauled our diets. We aren't "dieting" but we are eating healthier and consume nothing processed. It's been an adjustment but I'm so happy I'm finally seeing major results!

Thanks for letting me AW a little bit!

  • great job! I have no willpower when it comes to not eating junk and i really hate to work out. people who can do both are amazing in my book.

  • AWESOME! That is great work! Go Kelly! In 2008 I was at my heaviest ever, a year later in 2009 I was down almost 30 pounds by eating healthy and exercising. Now in 2011 I am down almost 40 pounds, my lowest weight since HS, have run 3 half marathons in a year, and try to eat healthy and as much non processed as possible. I'm sad to say with DH gone, my non processed foods diet doesn't always go great because I tend to revert back to quick, easy meals and comfort food, but I still try to get in my fruits and veggies and avoid so much junk. I can't wait to pass on this healthy lifestyle to our children someday, because it makes such a difference I think.

  • That is awesome!  Good for you.  I have totally let myself eat tons of crap while I'm pregnant and can see the weight in lots of places besides belly so I'll have to try to get disciplined once baby comes.

Thanks Yvonne! DH and I have signed up for a 5k in November. I haven't run one since high school about 9 years ago so I'm not expecting too much. I have my eye on the Disney family 5k over the marathon weekend in January. Congrats on your weight loss!

Haha...it's definitely not easy. We started in small steps which helps.

I can't imagine it's easy to pregnant and be able to maintain much of a healthy diet. However from you HDBD pic, you are really thin! That weight will come off easily for you.
  • Way to go Kelly! That is awesome, keep it up!

  • Awesome work! I'm jealous!! Big Smile

    Keep it up!!

  • That is awesome! I think the lifestyle change is what makes such a difference.

I put on 46 lbs while I was pg and I'm still up about 20 from where I started. I have finally started running again so I hope that helps. I am signed up for a 3.5 and a 4 miler in October so I'm getting motivated!

I can't believe you put on 46 pounds!  You looked so tiny and just like you had a basketball shoved under your shirt.  I think you looked great.

  • Awesome job!

I am super jealous of all you ladies that didn't gain as much as I did while preggo! Mine finally all came off when Maggie got mobile and I had to chase her everywhere... that was my exercise! :)
