Eastcoast ladies

Please check in when you can this weekend and let us know how you are surviving the hurricane. I'll be thinking good thoughts for all of you.

  • Thanks Paige and Amy!

We're supposed to start getting rain late tomorrow - Right now Sunday evening/night looks to be the worst of it I think.  We've stocked up on food and water (we're anticipating losing power) and I'm just hoping it ends up being less severe than they're saying!

  • I do think it will be less severe than they anticipate. My SIL has called a couple times reminding us to stock up on PB and bread, get gas in the car, etc. I feel like everyone is freaked out and it won't end up being bad unless you are by the coast. Then again, after Hurricane Hannah coming through on my wedding day, I don't care about hurricanes anymore :)

That being said, my brother goes to school on the east coast of Maryland and they cancelled freshman orientation and move in weekend and told everyone to go home. Classes are already cancelled Monday (scheduled 1st day), move in is expected for Tuesday, and then classes will start on Wednesday. Better safe that sorry I think!

  • We should start seeing storms tomorrow afternoon and will have TS force winds starting tomorrow evening.  The worst of the storm should be Sunday morning and all day long as we wait for the eye to go over CT.  Our phones will be fully charged, so at the very least I'll post something quickly in my FB status.  We'll want to conserve batteries if we have lost power.

  • its just raining on and off here. As of now, the eye should pass slightly east of us, so we'll see. i'm hoping we don't lose power. no ac for the night, ugh. we will probably sleep in the living room though on the sleeper sofa (the pack and play is there too) b/c the city cut some roots on a big tree by the curb to fix the sidewalks, and I don't know if its tropical storm safe (I did some eyeball measurements, and its totally tall enough to hit the attic)
