I'm super excited for DH because he got the job that he was all excited about. Ironically, the pay is actually a little bit less than what he's making now, but there are a lot of benefits that make up for that fact in my opinion.
1. Normal hours! Instead of the crazy rotating 1st and 3rd shift schedule he's been on all year, he'll now be working more like bankers' hours. So we can have dinner together, go to bed together, and he'll have weekends off.
2. Better insurance - I'm actually speculating a bit on this because I haven't seen an actual benefits folder at this point, but they said they have a great package and I'm taking their word for it since our current coverage kinda' sucks.
3. Room for growth! - With DH going back to school to get his degree, they said that there's definitely room for growth as he gets more certifications/degrees.
4. Shorter commute time - Instead of driving about 45 minutes each way to work every day, he'll now be driving only about 25 minutes each way.
Re: DH got the job!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah! So happy for you both!!!!!!! It'll esp. be nicer when the baby comes & he has a set schedule. When does he start?

I agree!! We need to get Dave working local!
I'm not 100% sure when he'll start. They just contacted him today and I'm sure he'll plan on giving his current job the standard 2 weeks, so we'll see.

Great news! Congrats to him and your family. Seems like everything listed would definately outweigh the lower salary, IMO.
When dh took this job here, the hours and less overtime were the top things that sold me on the move. It's great to actually have time as a family now!
So happy for you!

Thanks everyone!! We're feeling super blessed that he was able to find something else relatively soon after he started looking for another job.
I'm really excited about the change. From what DH was saying, the entire office environment seems a lot different too. He's going from a big company (with lots of silly protocol and rules) to a much more laid-back small company (maybe 12 employees tops). So it'll be a more relaxing place to be as well I'm sure.
That's SO awesome Sarah! I can't wait to hear more about it!!
Yay for a shorter commute and an even bigger Yay for stable hours! Sounds like it came at the perfect time!!
