Sadly, the special ed teacher is on leave to be with her 25 year old son who has CF and has been struggling and hospitalized all summer who in her words " in the absence of a miracle this weekend, isn't expected to make it."
The other special ed teacher is also on leave being a 24/7 care giver to her mother who is recovering slowly from cancer treatments all summer in Boston.
So, the department is mine for a few weeks under very sad circumstances.
Any good thoughts or prayers for my struggling co-workers would be appreciated.

My thoughts are with your coworkers. How very sad.
And yay for you getting to show the admisistration what a great teacher you are.
sounds about right.
no I hadn't. I am not on FB with anyone involved, and nothing has come through school yet.
That's terrible, I can't imagine the family's sadness right now. I hadn't met either boy, but she told me lots of stories about them and was very proud of both of them.
