We'll be driving down to a KSU game in Manhattan next Saturday. We're taking our little charcoal grill. I imagine we'll just have to buy all our food when we get into town, since we're driving and it will take us at least 4-5 hours. What are some foods that I can prep on the fly, or don't require refrigeration. We won't have room in the car to take a cooler-we're taking baby clothes to do handme down's to my SIL who is about to have a baby today or tomorrow.
I imagine we'll do burgers and dogs for a main course for tradition. Any fun sides we can do quickly, or should we just stick to chips?
Thanks!

Re: tailgaters, a ? on food
oh my! we can pass on some KSU stuff to you then! My SIL lives in Topeka, but both she and her DH went to KSU. When are you coming back?
If you are picking up food the day of- I would just stick to already prepared stuff from the grocery store. You could get some salads, chips, cookies and of course....BEER!!
I've tried to prepare stuff at a tailgate before and it is hard and usually messy and means I have to bring more stuff.
