Hunger Games

I might be obsessed.  The books were so great.  I think that they are going to be a classic and I hope that young adults are required to read them just like we were required to read 1984 and A Brave New World.

I thought that I would share my love. That's all.

  • I really liked the first two. Our school was obsessed with them when they came out a couple years ago... but the last book was almost universally declared a cop-out... which I totally agree with. So, I don't know about the staying power.

The whole dystopian YA genre has just exploded in recent years. I just finished reading The Maze and the second book of The Scorch Trials - those were good. And for very, very dystopian, the Triskelia Trilogy is really interesting.

  • Thanks for the recommendations Kaesha.  I am just a big fan of YA books that make kids think, and I feel like these books can make kids think.

  • There's nothing wrong with being a fan of YA books! They're a fun read, for sure.
  • Hmm,  I'm so surprised you guys liked these books so much.
