Good morning! How did everyone do with Irene?
I am pleasantly surprised this morning that we still have power and water and that there was no damage to our house. However, I'm keeping the flashlights nearby and I'm not throwing out my pots of water yet. I know I'm not totally in the clear.
I hope that everyone is okay and safe right now.

Baby248 - ETA 1/10/13
Ashburn - still have power, no damage (at least that we can see from indoors)
My sister's in Rockville - couple of giant limbs barely missed their house, still have power
My parents in Dutchess County NY - waiting to see - they did get their boat out yesterday.
Boy was that scary at points last night! I thought my windows were going to explode! All is well this morning though - no house damage, still have power in the Colesville section of Silver Spring. Pretty tired though - my pup was a nervous nelly until about 4am, so I may spend some time napping today.
all's well here
we're ok. we moved in just before the rain started yesterday
we have dominion. only issue I noticed since we moved in is the ugly back yard with the concrete area that became a slight holding spot for the rain water yesterday thankfully the water went away on it
Grateful to say it was fairly uneventful for us! My sister and her SO were in town and we were able to go to Centreville and hang out at my brother's (all eight of us - fun!). Made for a very cozy evening of dinner and board games and Dance Central and then karaoke when we came back home.
Hope everyone else is okay and those without power get it back ASAP!
we're fine with power/water/no damage, however some large limbs of trees on my block fell. the miracle is that they didn't take out power lines or do any damage to anything other than fences!
A few blocks away, though, a huge tree took down power and is blocking the street. that is a mess!
Planning Bio
Power went out at 1:30 am, back on at 10:30 am here in Springfield.
Other than that, everything seems fine.
We did borrow a generator for a few hours, just to keep the fridges and freezers going.
Didn't sleep though.
(I can't tell if that emoticon is sleep or yawning - I'm yawning because of not much sleep!)
I went for a walk and there is no visible damage in my neighborhood. Yet no power.
i am still in MA, the rain and wind have been intense but so far we still have power and no damage. DH is in DC and doing fine (thankfully, our building has a generator so he was likely to have power regardless). i just got out of my pajamas and am thinking of making a lunchtime batch of cava and st-germain to share with my grandma. really hoping that i might be able to get back to DC tomorrow but thinking it may be tuesday
stay safe everyone!

generally, freezer is good for 48hrs. post-power-loss.
