FLOOD ROLL CALL!

Post here if youre flooded!

ME ME ME!

I have at least 2 1/2 inches of water flooding my whole basement -- and it is bubbling up from under ground so its just getting worse by the second...

Re: FLOOD ROLL CALL!

  • Our basement too. It sucks. But the most unfortunate damage has been done to my Amex card... being trapped at home = shopping online :::shakes fist @ sky::: Damn you, Irene!
  • no flooding that i know of.

Samantha was running a fever last night so I didn't sleep much. Lost power from about 5:30 until 10:30. bagels and peanut butter is a very dry breakfast- lol!

  • Ughhh I had water/septic funk in my bathroon this am but after 2 hours we got that under control. Flooding in our kitchen and bedroom as well (just rain water no poopy water there). We've been going strong since 4:30am with shop vaccing and running back and forth with towels. This sucks ballz. Hope everyone who was affected gets everything under control soon. I think I'm going to have to stay home tomorrow to clean and reorganize :(

  • No flooding here. My family and cars are ok.  Princess (my SUV) has a bunch of scattered leaves on her , but is good.  :)    Tap water is yellowish.  I am very happy that I am BF at this point because we only have so much store water.

  • It wasn't really flooding, but we had a little water in the basement by the sump pump.  DH said that the dehumidifier should take care of that.  Also our water pressure is REALLY low.  I had the bathtub filled this morning in case we lost power and when we didn't I emptied it.  As soon as it emptied we flushed the toilet and realized there's barely any pressure.  Now the tub is getting filled again but it's  taking forever.  I called a neighbor and she said the well our development gets water out of has a problem and hopefully it's fixed my Mon. I hope so!

  • We have water in our basement.  Our neighbor also got a ton of water, 5+ feet of it and had to call the fire department and NYSEG to come shut off her power because it was almost at her panel box and could have caused the house to catch fire.  They were able to shut off power but water was still rising, it stopped just before it went through the floor to the first floor and ruined everything she owned.  Poor lady!!
