How are we all doing?
We are doing pretty well here at my house. We have some friends from Jersey City and Hoboken staying with us since it is flooded at the waterfront.
The inlaws haven't faired as well. The have flooding all over their town and the river is not set to crest for about another 12 hours. Hopefully it won't be too terrible, but we are not that optimistic.

Re: Post-Irene Post
I haven't heard from my sister in VA yet.
We still have power. They say we aren't out of the woods yet, but I'm optimistic. Lots of sirens, trees down, etc. so we'll be staying put. Over 80% of the people in the area are out of power, so I'm thankful.

What are you looking at?
Our power flickered a few times but never went out. 75% of central VA is without power. We didn't lose any trees and the one in my neighbors yard fell back into the woods.
My sister went to check on my parent's house. They have a tree down (I don't think there was damage). No power because there is a tree on the lines about 3 houses down. The neighbors have a tree through their front window :-(
Maria, where in VA is your sister?
She's in Oakton. All is well
A different neighbor of my parents' is an insurance adjustor and says the car that had the tree on it is definitely totaled. Yuck!
Still nasty and windy here at times.

We are good here! Lights flickered a couple of times and our cable box reset once, but really not a big deal. It is very windy, and I think we still have a good amount of wind coming to us here. We dodged most of the heavy rain, I think it moved more to the west of us in MA.
My parents in CT have no power and have been pumping water out of the downstairs all night (but that is typical of any rainstorm for them...). They also got a call from my grandma's neighbor telling them that my grandma's tree came down on her fence (neighbor's) and they need to call the insurance company tomorrow. Gee lady, don't bother checking on the 80 year old woman and making sure she is ok, just start complaining about the tree as the storm is still going on.
I haven't heard from her, but there are a lot of power outages in the area so that might be why she is not online. I have a friend that lives in the next town over from her and he said that there is a lot of flooding in the area. So hopefully, she is okay.
Holy crap.
Make sure to have an adjuster check your roof for damage you may not be able to see. And keep an eye out for water spots on your ceiling. Ours didn't show up until 2 days later.
So glad you girls are all safe! xoxo
This is us. The wind is high pitched howling. Quite freaky!

We just got power back today. There is a ton of flooding around us, entire trees have uprooted and fallen, and lots of structural damage to buildings/houses from wind & debris damage.
Thankfully our apt didn't flood & the 4 of us are safe! Our neighbor 3 door's down had a tree fall into their sliding back door and is now in their living room.
No one was hurt but they do have a lot of damage.
