Anyone here with a Kenmore 16231? I have a ?
I do really love this machine, but I must be really using it hard or something! I've only had it a few months now and the needle is now off center. I've looked through the manual and can't seem anything on a dial to adjust this. Can anyone help me out? TIA
Re: Anyone here with a Kenmore 16231? I have a ?
I don't have this machine, and I'm just guessing at what you mean- but, if the needle isn't in the center position, you're either in a stitch pattern that isn't based in the center (a left straight stitch? A zig-zag? A decorative stitch?) or, if it's a computerized machine, it probably gives you an option to move the needle from center, left or right. I don't know how helpful that is.
A picture of the needle area- and the stitch settings- might help us diagnose the issue better.
I actually do have this machine at home but I don't use it anymore since I inherited Nana's Bernina. What cmeon is saying sounds right though. Sorry I do not know how to make clicky links but here is apicture of the machine:

If you turn the bottom knob on the right you should see the red stitch indicator move back and forth through the windows. It's hard to see from this pic but the 7th, 8th and 9th ones look like the straight stitch options. You should put it on the one in the middle which should show a centered line relative to the other two.
Hope this helps!
