really annoying FB status update

Anyone seen this one?  There was so much wrong with it I just had to shake my head and move on.

"There's a rumor going around that says boys are stronger then girls! Oh! Please, can you carry a 7lb baby in your stomach for 9mths? Can? you cook, clean and talk on the phone @ the same time? Can you burn your forehead with a curling iron and not complain? Can you walk all day in 5" heels? Can you cry all night then wake up the next morning like everything is okay? Remember guys, women are only helpless until their nail polish dries Put this on your wall if YOU are proud of being a WOMAN!"

Re: really annoying FB status update

  • Let's see:  1) I'm not a mother, 2) I don't cook or clean, 3) I've never used a curling iron in my natural life, 4) don't typically wear nail polish.

Rut-row... I might be a man!  But I man who wears heels and can pull myself together for work.  Hmmm Huh?

  • I'm ok that men and women are different. Don't feel the need to promote one over the other.

Exception being getting sympathy from DH while I'm pregnant. My body is definitely working harder than his right now.

  • This is awful. And babies aren't 7 pounds the entire 9 months.
  • Good to know that our value as people consists of; baby-making, cooking, cleaning, talking on the phone, using a curling iron (and not complaining when we burn ourselves with it), walking in heels, and our ability to cry and then get over it really quickly. Oh, and we can't defend ourselves if our nail polish is wet.

  • What Snowyowl said. Things like this make me glad I deleted my old FB profile and I'm now only friends with under 40 people.

  • Actually, pretty much all of the updates of this genre irritate me. I have seen the other ones about how their parents spanked them and they grew up fine, God and how much they love him, their husbands and how much they love them, I'm a mom, I'm a daughter, blahblahblahblahblah. Nobody is attacking you, so you don't have to post ridiculous rants about how great a wife, mother,or whatever you might be. Oh yea, and the soldiers too!
  • any FB status that is a re-post is annoying as hell to me

Re-post this if you agree LOL Stick out tongue

No, for real. They are annoying and I have 10 girls on mine that posted this stuff, and everytime I thought, WTF? Is this what you believe?  ...*roll eye*

  • Ditto Emily. I've blocked several family members because of their stupid re-posting. The ones I get quite a lot are the cancer survivor ones.

Dude, I get it - We've all had someone affected by cancer. We're in the same family FFS. Hell, my grandmother beat it twice, but I'm still not re-posting that crap. If I want to show my appreciation for how strong she is, I'll email her.

Yes! This is what bugs me the most. If people are actually all up in your face about what a weakling you are because you refused to fight with wet nail polish, then ok, rant about all the strong things you do. Otherwise, I don't get being defensive about a non-existant offense.
