I want you all to be honest - do you think I can pull off this sort of look? I want to get lowlights this fall and have been toying with bangs, but I'm not sure I'm sold yet. I've attached a picture of me (my hair is past my shoulders now, but not as long as hers) so you can see face shape, etc. I also wear glasses most of the time, and they're dark blue plastic frames, not the ones in the picture. If you have other ideas, please share! I need to change up my look
Re: Hair opinions wanted!
I think so.
Have you had bangs before? How will they be with your glasses?
How do you normally wear your hair? will bangs be difficult? (my hair is too frizzy and thick for bangs) I also wear a lot of headbands, so it would be easy to hide bangs if I didn't like them.
I always say go for what you want, but I've also never had a problem with hair changes. for example, this week I'm going back to dark dark brown even though my hair is more blonde than it's ever been right now.
I think that style would look great on you!
Also, really dumb question - what's a lowlight?

basically the opposite of a highlight. Instead of putting blonder streaks in my hair it would be brunette streaks to make it appear darker
I think it would look great! I am very low maintenance when it comes to hair, so bangs are usually never a good idea for me, but if you're good about styling or making messy look good, I say go for it.
Also, brunettes rule!
So obviously, I support lowlights.

hahaha messy is about the only look I know. The texture of my curly hair, while easily tamed, seems to agree with the messy look
I love that style - I'm actually growing mine out to something similar, so maybe I'm just partial!
I've definitely had bangs with my glasses, but I can only find this semi-ok pic of me with side-swept bangs and glasses (I'm the one on the left. You know, the one with the bangs and glasses.
):
Maybe try a side-swept bang first? It's super easy to go to a blunt bang from side-swept, but they're also easier to blend in if you decide against bangs.
My natural hair color is almost black, so I have no experience with low lights; sorry! I think you should go for it, though - you can always dye it back/grow it out if you hate it!

I look terrible in that picture, yikes! I found another with actual bangs (I had Lasik in 2007, so these are both pretty old!):
I'm on the right. And that's Mike Ditka; I have that dumb look on my face because I LOOOOOVE him and was so excited to meet him, haha.
