How is everyone doing after the storm? Is anyone still without power?
We got ours back on last night, thank goodness. But some people in our neighborhood still don't have power.

We never had any problems at home.
We got a call from daycare last night that there's a tree down across their street. We'll have an annoying little detour that involves a bike path and a steep hill to a reachable neighborhood for the forseeable future, since daycare is on a street at the bottom of the county's priority list. Luckily this is the only problem that's touched us.
I hope no one (I'm looking at you, mssaint) is left without power much longer.
Not much happened in my neighborhood -- in my own yard, just lots of leaves strewn about (and hey, they'd be falling in a few months anyway). Our power was out from approx. 2:30-4:30am Saturday -- so, in the middle of the night.... not inconvenient.
Dominion seems to do a better job than Pepco - maybe they should have some cross-training?

My neighborhood looks like an atomic bomb exploded. I can't even begin to describe the devestation.
Some of my neighbors have trees on/through their houses or cars. One house I know of was completely leveled by a tree.
All 3 exits/entrances to my neighborhood are blocked. They opened the emergency exits yesterday afternoon which are down long, narrow, windy roads.
SMECO is saying we could be without power for 5-14 days. Yes I said...14!
We have a generator hooked up for the fridge, freezer and tv. We have a girll - which we used to actually cook a homemade lasagna on last night. We will make it but it definitely makes me realize I would have never survived being Amish. The fact that its 80 degrees in my house makes it almost impossible to sleep and no one better even think about calling CPS on me for letting my toddler run around naked in a diaper!
omg jitter! it's amazing no one was hurt! i hope your power comes back closer to 5 days (or less!) instead of 14. Yikes.
We had a brief power outage then a HUGE power surge. Thank goodness for surge protectors. Two of ours are fried. If it hadn't been for them, our TV, computers and stereo equipment would have been toast. So far, the only casualties we've found from the surge are the baby monitor, air purifier and wireless router. Our refrigerator also took a hit, so it's not cooling, but it's not totally dead. I'm hoping to get a repair person out today.
After all the wind and the noise from the power surge, I may need to medicate my dog. He is FREAKED out!
DH was out of town most of the weekend, so it was a big of a challenge getting everything prepped, keeping C entertained (especially at 5 am Sunday when he freaked out and wouldn't go back to sleep), but it was okay. We rarely, rarely lose power and lost it Saturday early am through last night.
Our neighborhood lost a lot of trees and limbs, but our biggest personal loss was all the food we had to throw out. When preparing for a hurricane, avoid buying yogurt and lunch meat. A little tip from me to you.
I was actually kind of hoping our DCP didn't have power today - it's such a gorgeous day I wouldn't have minded an excuse to take off and hang with C.
We are good and thankfully didn't lose power. One house in our neighborhood had a large tree fall down near it but fortunately, it just swiped the side of the house and took down the gutter.
My DCP had a pipe burst in her house. I don't know if it was related to the storm or just coincidence but she is closed today which means DH is at home with both kids. I hope he makes it.
we lost power around 1am Sunday morning but it was back at 2pm yesterday afternoon. Otherwise, just a few limbs down in the neighborhood.
My mom is in Annapolis and it might be 8 days until she has power. Ugh!
We lost power for exactly 24 hrs...Saturday 3am until this morning 3am. We have never lost power and apparently this was the first time in 20 years! On Saturday night, 10 of my awesome friends still turned out to party with me. We turned in at around 12:30 and things went downhill from there.
Thank goodness it was not that long and the kids were able to get up and at 'em to school this morning.

A tree around the corner from us took out an entire pole and all that goes with it. They were working on getting the tree out of the way last night. This morning on my way to work there were 3 trucks in the neighborhood. Hopefully by the time I get home we'll have power.
We loaded fridge things in the big cooler yesterday afternoon and left the freezer overnight. This morning DH put everything that hadn't been cooked in another cooler and loaded it with ice to hopefully prevent everything from thawing out entirely. He said it was still pretty cold in the freezer, so hopefully the rest of the stuff will be ok.

We lost power twice, but for only about 30 seconds each time. This is remarkable, since we usually lose power whenever someone so much as blows out birthday candles anywhere in Montgomery County.
Seriously, I came home from work on Friday and we had lost power at some point that day when it was lovely out, but we manage to make it through the storm without losing it? Bizarre. I guess this is our payback for being amongst the last people in the county to get their power back after that storm last summer - we were without power for 7 days then.
Surprisingly, we didn't lose power. Well, that's not true. I blew a fuse while I was sewing on Saturday night.
C slept poorly on Saturday night because the wind gusts kept waking him up.

Our power was out from 4:30am yesterday until 4:30 this morning. Ugh. I had to take one for the team and eat the ice cream that was getting too soft in the freezer.
Otherwise, it wasn't too bad, and we spent most of the day at my dad's to kill time in the A/C. And I downloaded a book to my Kindle so I'd have something to do last night :-)
Daycare didn't have power until late this morning, which was annoying, but it was a good excuse to telework and now I'm here chilling with DS gone.

i was in MA with my fam and they didn't lose power at all, just branches and lots of leaves down. but the town my grandma lives in had major power outages, trees and wires down so somehow they lucked out in not having any real damage.
surprisingly (and very thankfully!) i got back from PVD to DCA with no delays at all. i hadn't seen DH in two weeks so i was very ready to be back here.
We didn't lose power, thankfully, and the wind didn't seem that bad. There wasn't much down when we went outside Sunday.
Oh, but we randomly lost power for a few hours Friday night-Saturday morning (like 3am-8am or so) when the weather was fine. Very odd, Pepco, very odd.
